So, I recently created a poll asking what kind of roleplay I should transfer over to the forum. Hands down, it was a Marvel Universe RP. My issue now... Is that I don't have any of the previous story or outlines of the thread. So, this thread is for a bit of brain storming and letting everyone pitch their ideas into the pot.

So, one idea floating through my brain would be to jump into a plot around the devastating effects of the House of M storyline, or just before the story of Civil War.

You would have to explain that one to me. I am used to more recent stuff of Marvel.

The House of M...I know about the Civil War...least what I could learn in school about it. Well, you've got the wrong Civil War, I'll give you that. Civil War is a story arc that occurred (in the comics) when the US Government passed the Superhuman Registration Act, which arose from multiple occurrences of extensive damage and death to the civilian population after Superhuman relate events. The final straw was when a group of newer heroes, the New Warriors, attempted to arrest the villain Nitro. Well, Nitro dropped one of his most devastating attacks and destroyed around five city blocks in, I believe, downtown New York, killing over 600 people and 60 buildings. Continuing on, Tony Stark (Iron Man) became the leader of the pro-registration group of heroes while Captain America became the anti-registration leader. SHIELD ended up having to be the brute force in enforcing the bill, much to many heroes' disdain. Tony influenced Peter Parker to reveal his identity, which led Cyclops to declare the mutants (or what was left of them) to declare themselves neutral, but many fled to Canada. Well, Captain America led a group of anti-registration heroes to confront of group led by Iron Man, but the Captain only wanted to talk, but with Tony being Tony, Captain had to use a small EMP device that shuts down any Iron Man suit to keep him down. A huge brawl ensued and a clone of Thor, dubbed Ragnarok, kills Bill Foster (Goliath) by blasting lightning directly through his chest. Anyways, Tony gets the help of Mr. Fantastic to build a prison in the Negative Zone called 'Project 42'. After discovering the plan to just detain heroes indefinitely that refused to register, Spider Man defects and informs Captain America of the plot, all of the details later confirmed by The Punisher after he breaks into the Fantastic Four's stronghold and steals basically everything to do with the project. Well, after hearing about this, and knowing roughly what the other would do, the two sides travel to the site of Project 42 and, with the entire prison being unlocked by the hero known as 'Hulklin', a shapeshifter, the entire battle escalates. Sometime during the fight, The Cloak teleports everyone to the center of New York City. Needless to stay, all hell breaks loose and Captain America almost kills Iron Man, who can't fight properly thanks to Vision compromising his armor. Only after being held back by emergency personnel and realizing the extent of the damage and bloodshed, Captain America surrenders. A couple weeks later, the Fifty State Initiative is put into effect, which puts an Avengers team/squad in every state, including Washington DC. Tony Stark replaces Maria Hill as director of SHIELD, many of the anti-registration heroes head to Canada, but many are given amnesty by the Government so they stay. On the way to court, Captain America is shot and killed by the assassin Crossbones and a mind controlled Sharon Carter, who, if you have seen the Winter Soldier, was the nurse living next door to the Capt, but under a different name in the movie, I believe. Well, after his death, all hell breaks loose as The Red Skull makes his return, creating all kinds of issues and havoc for the new SHIELD, while Bucky Barnes, the Winter Soldier, blames Tony for the Capt's death and attempts to kill him at every turn. As it turns out, as the Red Skull uses senator Gordon Wright to continue to create havoc, Sharon Carter was indeed Captain America's lover, and is pregnant with his child, which the Red Skull wants. Red Skull plans to transfer his consciousness into the child which, by the results of a ton of tests, inherited all of the traits and the superhuman 'genes' of Steve Rogers (The Capt himself). Well, thanks to Sin (Sinthea Schmidt), the Red Skull's daughter, Sharon receives grievous wounds, and loses the child, and also botches her attempt at killing Gordon Wright by trying to rush things, and causes him to snap out of the mind control. Giving SHIELD all he knows, Black Widow and Falcon lead a huge SHIELD raid on the Red Skull's hideout, but he flees after his consciousness is transferred into a robot of all things. Shortly afterwards, Bucky Barnes is corralled and given a letter by Tony Stark, addressed to Tony from Captain America, stating that, if something should happen to him, Bucky was to take up the mantel of Captain. Realizing that Tony wasn't to blame, Bucky becomes the new Captain America, roughly bringing the entire Civil War to it's conclusion.

I'll get a recap of House of M in a bit, I think there's more to it's story than the Civil War arc.

Alright... the House of M, first off, takes place across multiple realities and dimensions, so it might get confusing along the way... So I'm not going to explain it, rather, I'll post a link to the Wiki. Afore mentioned Wiki.
But yeah, House of M is a bit dark and emotion straining for many of the characters. But anyways, let's get some ideas besides just you and me, Dea.

Hmmm, nothing that jumps immediately to mind. I was kinda thinking something like during the overthrow of SHIELD during Winter Soldier... Dunno, though.

Hmm, that could work. I know only some of that from the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D part of it.
