▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄ INTRODUCTION ▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄
In 2022, an experimental hyperspace gateway designed to make high-speed outer space travel possible malfunctioned, destroying much of the Moon. Consequently, the Earth became continuously bombarded with radiation and debris. Humans were forced to inhabit the other planets of the Solar System. In time, they perfected astral gates and developed civilizations on these planets.
Politics, society, and economics changed. Ethnic groups and nations gave way to planetary allegiances. As these new communities flourished, the economy boomed. This widened the disparity between the rich and poor, and interplanetary crime syndicates began to exert influence over the planetary governments, even the Inter-Solar System Police (ISSP). In order to control the criminal activity, a "bounty-reward scheme" was introduced.
A ragtag group of space cowboys gathered on the Bebop, traveling the solar system hunting bounties. Together, Jet, Spike, Faye, Ed, and Ein took part in countless misadventures. Stealing, cheating, and shooting their way to a woolong or two. The unlikely family fought together and played together until Spike decided to go on a suicide mission to confront his past. That was about a year ago. Faye hit rock bottom when Spike left. She went off and gambled away all Jet's money at a casino. Eventually she came crawling back, as did Ed and Ein. Jet, Faye, Ed, and Ein are all together again. They assume Spike died taking down Vicious, but did he? It went something like this. Spike killed Vicious. During the commotion of the final battle, a group of Red Dragons that wanted Spike to become the new leader managed to get his mangled body out of the building. Spike awoke in a dingy room, likely some makeshift operation room, and decided to go on the run. With everyone dead, there was a power vacuum in the Red Dragons. Basically, the same group that saved him was looking to bring him in as leader, so Spike began taking only small jobs. Just enough for cigarettes and food.

▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄ LOCATIONS▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄ Earth
Earth has a population of 200 million people. The surface is covered with extensive ruins, a result from the orbital bombardment of moon chunks. Most people live underground, although there are those surface dwellers who search the abandoned towns and cities for useful scrap. Venus
Venus, Earth's virtual sister planet, as a population of 500 million people, mostly of African and Arab descent. The planet is 7-13 hours from Earth by way of Phase Gate. It is notable for the immense floating plants (which produce much of the breathable oxygen) and for the spore "snow" from these same plants. This "snow" can cause blindness in roughly 0.1% of the population. Venus also has a high helium content to its atmosphere, with humorous side effects on those who have never visited before. Mars
Although Mars only has a population of 300 million or so (mostly Chinese, with a mix of Indian, Russian, and various Asian races), it is the business and cultural center of the solar system. Mars is 13-24 hours from the Earth by way of Phase Gates, and serves as the gateway to the outer solar system. Cities are built on Mars by placing them in large craters and then running an air curtain around the rim to keep the atmosphere in and the cold out. Asteroids
The asteroid belt, which lies between Mars and Jupiter, has a population of around 80 million people. The population is a broad mix of races with no set majority (although this can vary according to location). The asteroids themselves are known to be a free-trade zone, and business of all types are located there. It takes 2-8 days by Phase Gate to get to the asteroids. Jupiter
Although Jupiter itself isn't colonized, three of its moons are. All three have populations of around 150 million persons, with the majority being of European descent. Jupiter is roughly 2-3 days from Earth by Phase Gate. Callisto: Callisto is a cold place, with blowing snow and freezing temperatures. The economy on Callisto is fairly stagnant, a situation which led to the war on Titan. Ganymede: A water moon, Ganymede is covered with oceans. Cities float on the oceans, and much of the economy is based on aquaculture. A popular export is the Ganymede sea rat. Io: Io is a virtual desert planet (complete with cactus). It looks a lot like Arizona, Mexico, or parts of Texas. Apparently, it is a prime source of produce. Saturn
As with Jupiter, Saturn isn't settled, but its moon(s) are. Titan: Titan has a population of around 30 million people. It is around 4-7 days from Earth by Phase Gate. Titan is part of a commonwealth made of up the moons of Saturn and is the scene of much fighting between commonwealth forces and forces from the rest of the solar system. Uranus, Neptune, Pluto These planets are not colonized and have no real population. Uranus is around 2 weeks from Earth by Phase Gate, Neptune 3 weeks, Pluto one month.

It had been a year since Spike left the crew to take down Vicitous and the Red Dragons. The reports all said that the Red Dragons were just about wiped out and that the ones who did it were gone. Since that time, Jet has continced to chase after Bounties as to make money and a living. But having to deal with Fay always was a pain. But even after she ran off and blew throught all of the money that was onbroad the ship and came back, Jet still let her stay around as it would like the old days. Sometime after that, Ed and Ein even came back to the Bebop. Now with all of back, it really was like the good old days. Well most of the time. Jet was in the kitchen cooking up what meal they did had with some mushrooms that they had. With so little of bounties out, they only got cheap stuff. "Hey, Fay! Foods about ready." He yelled out from the Kitchen.

╔══.♥.════════╗ Faye Valentine ╚═════════.♥.═╝
▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄▀▄
Wrinkled magazine in hand, Faye Valentine lay on the tattered yellow couch in the Bebop’s living room. Slender legs rested on the makeshift coffee table. The television buzzed in the background. Punch and Judy enthusiastically addressed the viewers, informing them of the most recent bounties. Once one of the most popular television shows in the solar system, Big Shot was cancelled due to poor ratings. Fortunately, Judy worked her talents to marry her manager and get the show back on the air, with a hefty raise, of course. Flipping each page absentmindedly, the female bounty hunter sighed heavily. A frown marred her features. The Bebop just wasn’t the same without him.
Spike Spiegel was the proverbial thorn in her side. Moody and rude, the lunkhead had a knack for pressing Faye’s buttons. Woolongs, bounties, even the shower schedule could set off a war in the old fishing trawler, but when the chips were down, Spike and Faye had each other’s backs. Neither had to say I care, they just knew. That’s how it was on the Bebop, actions always spoke louder than words. A perfect example is the time Faye and Spike fought alongside each other to protect the Bebop against the Red Dragons after Vicious’ failed coup. It truly was no big surprise, Vicious knew the elders would be out for anyone involved, including Spike. It was as though the silver-haired lowlife wanted to force Spike into one final battle, the results of which were still unknown.
A syndicate member that tried to remove his competition would immediately be targeted by the person’s subordinates. Taking down the elders was an entirely different situation. In order for Vicious to kill Ping Long, Sou Long, Wang Long, and Mao Yenrai to become leader of the Red Dragons, he would have had to lay down a lot of groundwork. By now he would have made some kind of demonstration of power, yet there was no mention of the Red Dragons in the media. Even Jet’s ISSP buddies couldn’t dig up any information. For all intents and purposes, the crime syndicate had disappeared. It was odd, very odd. It also prevented Faye from mourning Spike’s death. Had there been a grave to visit, or at the very least, a body in a morgue, she could have processed his death. Instead, all she had the memory of the last confrontation with the man with the fluffy hair.
Faye Valentine had lost her memories, probably due to amnesia. The young woman had tried to mend her fractured past. Her childhood, her family, her friends, they were what kept Faye going. Desperately, she clung to the dream that somewhere out there someone was waiting for her. Realizing that no such life existed had shattered Faye. Not long after, Spike decided to embark on a suicidal mission to face his past. The pair’s last meeting was emotionally charged. Faye had pulled a gun on Spike, but knowing full well his reasons for leaving, she was powerless to stop him. Angry, frustrated, and grief stricken, she fired repeatedly into the air as he walked away. Her inability to save Spike finally broke Faye, causing her to sob uncontrollably in the hangar for what seemed like an eternity. Eventually Jet had gone to the inconsolable woman. Eventually, Faye locked herself in her room. When she didn’t come out to eat, Jet took her food, coaxing her to eat. The routine went on for a week or so until Faye could no longer cry for a dead man.
To any outsider, it was obvious that Spike and Faye had shared some sort of cosmic connection. Spike liked to put himself in dangerous situations. It was his way of feeling alive. In a similar way, Poker Alice used gambling to cope with the cards life had dealt her. In the wake of Spike’s death, she had taken nearly every woolong on the Bebop and gone to gamble her troubles away. With nothing but the Red Tail and the clothes on her back, Faye took off to a small casino floating in Mars space and embarked on a gambling and drinking binge. Days were hazy, a mixture of whiskey and poker chips. Days were spent in bend, sleeping off a hangover. Nights were spent at the poker tables. Day in and day out until the money ran out. Not even thinking twice about it, Faye crawled back to the Bebop. Jet didn’t say much. Hell, he’d known the woman would eventually come back. Ed and Ein had also moved back in. It was kind of nice to have the hacker back. Though she would never admit it, Faye was even happy to have the dirty mutt on the ship again. The dysfunctional, fucked up family was together again. They were all together again. Well…except Spike. Before Faye could sulk any longer, something caught her attention. AMIGOS! Look at that! It’s Robin Heiden. This bambino is worth 6 million woolongs. He was last spotted in Mars at the Grand Casino…
“Yeah…okay…”, she called out as Jet informed Faye, along with everyone else onboard, that dinner was nearly ready. Rising from the couch, Faye walked over to the Bebop’s kitchen.
“Hey, Jet, I think there’s a bounty we can go after.” Jet had likely heard the television and would be a little hesitant to go after Robin Heiden. After all, he would doubtlessly worry about visiting a casino with Faye.

They often say that humans can't live alone... But you can live pretty long by yourself. Instead of feeling alone in a group... it's better to be alone in your solitude.

Jet had indeed heard the reward on the bounty called Robin Heiden, They could use the money, but a Casino with Faye? "Yeah, and have you blow through all the money on hand before we caught him." He said as he turned off the food and moved the food out of the frying pad and onto some plates for everyone. He picked up one and the plates and helded it out to her "Here" He said as he through about the bounty... 6 millions.. Well, it sounds like a good cashcow. He sighed deeply knowing that they needed the money. Docking frees were overprice on most worlds and even cost for the gates were out there. "As long as you don't go czary and blow through what little woolongs we have left, then we will go over this Bounty." He then turned to the doorway. "Ed, Ein. Time to eat." He called out to them.
