The forest's end seemed too far away now. Venturing in the open so far like this felt strange.
A girl walks down the dusty roads on the eve of her twentieth birthday. A castle is seen in the distance, glistening like diamonds along the flat landscape. Such a gaudy thing to her kind. Yet, she found a charm about it. Men are able to carve this from the earth not by magic, but by their hand. The elves caution of his cold the humans can be towards their kind. 'Never look them in the eye, their gaze alone spits a poison, their words travel like fire, their swords slash quickly. Never gaze into their eyes…'
It was as if the humans are the mythical beasts she were meant to conquer.
Perhaps this is true.
The hooded girl stands frail, but fully blossomed into a fine flower. Bits of her soft pink hair dance about the right side of her head; which is the only int to who she is aside her deep blue eyes, that seem to shine like stars. Perhaps this is why her elder granted her the name Stargazer…
Nari Stargazer. She is an aspiring mage, seeking to achieve sagelyhood, and along the way uncover what is meant by the tale woven to her since she was a babe. She hums the song under her breath, singing eventually to the wind, which seemed to be the only one who'd listen to her delicate voice.
"All the fauna must beware,
The scorn and hatred; the blade's snare,
Its spell grows and swirls deep into the trees
Beware the black chasm grows.
Light shall converse among the skies,
Where the birds and clouds cry,
In hopes that a ray may trickle down,
Where the black chasm grows…"
She paused her stride, looking down at her boots. Though a simple song; a silly rhyme told to all the children, there was a deeper meaning. Her elder told her this much. Perhaps were she to find the beast she is to befriend to attain highest levels of magic, it can tell her. For now, she continues this lonely road, veiling herself in the comforts of her hood, in hopes to avoid the poisonous snares of those who wish to stop her from enlightenment.
The castle lurches closer now. She could make out the details of the violet tips of its spires. The way the sun seemed to eclipse behind the commanding walls humbled her. This would be a dangerous venture. She hoped there was a path around the structure rather than through it.
