Thomas let a smile emerge as she agreed to learn to use a dagger "A well crafted dagger will have a balance that suits the wielder, when you hold it you find the weight rest equally in the blade and handle." he said glad the topic was finally something he was well versed in, "The next time one stops by we'll get one that will work for you." he added as they reached the end of the courtyard and began back. "He does prefer to kept abreast of such things, he is the captain of the fort after all." he said in a quiet tone, "I'm already in trouble for the housing issue, but any more trouble will see me packing my bags. Should that happen not even your father would be able to see me knighted, I'm willing to see that ordeal through if you can convince him let this old soldier try." he added in a sincere tone as he smiled. "Now lets not discuss this any more in the open, time for work talk." he said as the courtyard began to become more crowded, "I have a dagger I can let you use for now, we will split the afternoon between your crossbow practice and some basic dagger techniques." he said in a official tone as they passed other teams.

Amelia tilted her head once more when he spoke on how one could tell a dagger was well crafted. It made little sense to her ever after he explained it. Perhaps it would make more when she actually held one. Still not thrilled that she would be wielding a dagger, but she did see the benefits of it as well. It seems they would be finding one that would be well crafted for her.
Amelia would make sure Thomas got knight so he could be her personal knight. She was a daddy's girl for the most part. She may have hated her father for plenty of things and currently the number one thing was sending Clovis and her to this Fort to train, but it did seem this had a silver lining. She had the King at least what she believed, wrapped around her finger. Many others though would tell it differently. As long as things seemed to go fine here at the Fort, she did not see how Thomas could not get knighted. She would not speak of this again though unless they were alone.
Amelia looked up at Thomas as he spoke that he had a dagger for her to use until they got her own. "I still prefer the crossbow to the dagger." She smirked a little. She still had part of her old stubbornness, just she eased up a lot when it came to Thomas. She also never held a dagger before so for her to say she preferred the crossbow already was a little silly. She liked what she was using for her weapon and did not see a real need to have to learn something else. Except for what Thomas said. But it was the soldiers and guards and the knights jobs to make sure the nobles and royals never would have to use such a thing. Perhaps her other reason for liking the crossbow so much was because it got her a room with Thomas. She doubted the dagger could do any better.

Teryn Landri Teryn looked at Oliver when he replied, saying his name wrong as always. He'd been annoyed the first could times Oliver said his name wrong, but it was impossible to stay mad at the cheerful trooper. "Good morning Ollie. I trust none of our new visitors have been picking on you too badly? Though I'm sure the Lieutenant here wouldn't let anything bad happen to you, but still." He said, grinning a little. Teryn had a tendency to treat the man like he would one of his little brothers, even though Teryn knew Oliver was actually older then him. He was never really sure how to feel about the other soldiers, he didn't like looking at them like they were just faceless soldiers, he knew they were people just like him, that there was more to them then being a soldier, but he wasn't real great when it came to people. At least Oliver was friendly.

Harmony Adams
At least he was laughing, harmony thought, she could tell he was not to happy with what she just said. She sighed. " Hey chaos, if things are meant to be, they will work out." she spoke calmly. "I believe that." she added with a smile. She noticed that he started to walk away. " I have a few things to take care of, I will stop by and visit you and stray if I get a chance, if not I will see you in the yard." She ran her hand through her hair and sighed. Chaos and Stray were both off since Chaos had been rejected. It bothered her, but she knew they would work through it. She sighed again and turned to Catherine. "Thank you for being so patient." she spoke calmly. "And I ask that you don't take offense to his words, though I know that it might be easier said than done. He can be rather impulsive, and doesn't always think about what he says." She bit her lip. __________________________________________________________

"Then I will help you with that." Alex spoke calmly taking the bandages from Stray. Cain being his best friend, he had more than his fair share with dealing with bandaging injuries. He did not know why he was being so... friendly towards Stray. Maybe because he understood where he was coming from. He was annoyed how quickly these two seemed to work their way under his skin.
"I understand," he spoke. "Be careful, you may act with love, but your actions may push him away more than they may help. Chaos, is capable of making his own choices," It was the only advice that he would give. Stray may not like to hear it from him, but it was the truth and Alex did not want to sugar coat things. He wouldn't admit that he spoke from the possibility of experience either...

Chaos smiled a bit and nodded his head. She was right, if things were meant to be, they would find a way to work themselves out. Who is to say though, that he couldn't try pressing the matters to get what he wanted. "Thanks, Harmony and all right. I'll see you later."
Stray pondered at what Alex spoke of. That was true, Chaos could make his own choices. However, the choices Chaos often made led him into trouble. Trouble that Chaos usually had no idea how to get out of. "I will keep that in mind. And...thanks. For helping me bandage up my knuckles." Stray stood up and walked over to where he kept his spare uniforms. "You know, you aren't that bad, Alex. You're pretty reasonable." He spoke as he put on his new shirt, though his body ached as he did so. The only way that they wouldn't get a talking to was if they didn't go to the infirmary to be checked out and pray that gossip would not reach the wrong ears.
Chaos opened the door and saw Stray and Alex. He gave a goofy grin that was a little nervous behind it as well. He saw Stray seemed to already be bandaged up, that was good. "Um, hey." He kept that grin. "I'm...sorry for taking that cheap shot on ya, Stray." It really was a cheap shot, a shot Stray did not see coming. However, had it been a real battle, Stray would have noticed the movement and dodged it or had a better counter to it.
"It's all right, Chaos. It had been a few months since we got into it that bad. Guess it was over due." Stray smirked a little. "Now come here so I can take a look at you. Your lip looks a bit swellon. Sorry I hit you so hard." Stray helped Chaos off with his own shirt. He had not held much back when it came to fighting earlier. He didn't believe he broke any of Chaos' ribs, so that was good. However, he was probably more sore than what Stray was. It was clear when Chaos' shirt was off. There were darker bruises already forming an even some scrapes that had bled. Stray grabbed a clean cloth and dabbed it water as he started to clean up Chaos' chin and lip, after Chaos had sat down on a chair.
"Yea it probably was over due, huh." Chaos chuckled which made him frown a bit. "Damn...laughing isn't going to be fun for a few days." Chaos sighed. He looked over to Alex. "Heh, sorry about all this. It really doesn't happen that often. I hope my brother didn't say anything too horrible about me while I was away." Chaos grinned. He didn't think Stray would say much anyway. Stray respected nobles and the royal family. In not so many words, Stray knew his place, unlike Chaos.

Thomas chuckled at her comment “There is nothing wrong with have a preference to a certain weapon, but over specialization invites ruin. That’s what my instructor taught me many years ago, and I still teach it to all students who I have had the honor to teach.” He said evenly, “I’m not asking to replace your crossbow, I know you enjoy firing it. I just ask that you carry a backup weapon, I’ll be much relived to know you carry at least a small blade.” He added in a serious tone.
After nearing the well after their fourth lap he slowed his pace “Did you need any water, I figure your due for a break.” He said evenly as he stopped, “I know I could use some water.” He added as he stepped towards the well.

Alex smiled at stray and his comment. "If you tell anyone I will deny it, I just know it is wise not to piss off the owners of the room I am sleeping in..." Alex would deny it too. And make the biggest fuss possible. Before much else could be said by him though, Chaos came back into the room. They both apologized to each other in some manner or another and Stray started to tend to Alex's wounds. Alex noticed that Chaos did fare worse of the two, after seeing the bruising they both had. He knew he would talk to Chaos about holding off playing together later when his brother wasn't present. It was not the ideal conversation either of them wanted to have, but well he would not risk the trouble that would come from letting Chaos act with a rebound. Alex knew that if he didn't take care, he would likely end up far worse off then his brother. But self protection was not the only reason why, Alex did not want to run the risk of Chaos developing or displacing his emotions on him. The Chaos spoke and Alex could only smile in response. "Your brother did not say anything bad at all." It was the truth, in fact Stray told him nothing that he hadn't already at this point figured out. "But you an I have to talk, later," Something told him that even with his trouble laughing, Chaos would not be easily discouraged from his wants.
