Worried? Devon's thoughts lingered on her words, trying to figure things out. "Why would you be worried about me? Would it not be a good thing for you if something did happen to me so you could try to get back home on your own? It seems silly that the kidnapped worries about their kidnapper." Devon shook his head and slowly followed into the kitchen. Everything he had known about humans, did not fit Sophia. She, for the most part was...nice and caring. Sure the first day was rough on both of them, but things changed. Perhaps, maybe, one human out of millions could be tolerant.
Devon grabbed some eggs, cracked some into the pan. The easier way of cooking eggs was just to scramble them up. A good spot for a first time cook. "It's taking too long to cook." He frowned as he started to raise his hand to use some lightening to fry the eggs a bit, but Sophia had caught him and shook her head. He frowned and glared at the eggs. "These things take forever to cook." He mumbled.

Sophia Goldenheart Sophia wasn't sure how to explain her worry herself, since she didn't totally understand it. He was right, if something happened to him, then she could run away and not look back. Instead, the thought of something happening to him had her worried. She shook her head softly, before watching him work on cooking the eggs. She saw him getting ready to use magic on the eggs and she laid her hand softly on his, shaking her head.
" I know cooking things takes time, but you have to be patient. Some of the best tasting things are usually ones that take some time to cook or bake. You just cannot rush it,"she explained.

Devon, almost, out of instinct pull his hand back when she touched his hand, but he didn't. He starred at her hand and then looked up at her face. He was getting scared of what was becoming between the two of them. If he could he'd kill her, just so he could feel comfortable again. He couldn't. He shifted his gaze back to the eggs. "It's hard to cook and wait for things to cook. Specially when you're use to just eating everything that moment it touches your hands."
Devon continued to cook until the eggs where finished. He put them on two plates while the toast had finished as well. He even was able to cook some sausage as well. He sat down at the tiny table with a glass of milk. He took a bite of the eggs and smiled a bit. "It's not that bad." He didn't plan on trying to cook great by any means, but it was a start. The basics where good. "Ah...hey I was thinking. Maybe instead of staying cooped inside this cabin we go head out to the waterfall in this forest."

Sophia Goldenheart Sophia blushed lightly when he looked in her face, then took her hand off of his. She watched as he finished cooking everything, she had to admit, she was kind of impressed. For one who was used to just killing and eating their food, he had caught on pretty quickly with how to cook a few things. She sat down at the table across from him and began to work on eating. Mmm, he really did do a nice job with these, she thought. When he mentioned getting out of the cabin for a bit, she looked shocked.
" I would love to see the waterfall and get out of the cabin for a little while. Are you sure your boss will approve of it though? And what about the dangers in the forest?"she asked.

"Glad to hear you approve of the waterfall idea." Devon smiled just a bit as he continued to eat. When she brought up about his 'boss' the Demon Lord, he shrugged. "My job is to keep you away from the human kingdom. Keep you safe, alive. I'm not failing any of that by taking you to see a waterfall. As for the dangers of the forest, I can handle anything that comes our way if they are stupid enough to come our way. I'll more than likely go in my Talasa form. Most monsters stay away from talasa's. They don't want to be eaten." He really was glad that he was able to shift into such a fearsome beast.
As for the Demon Lord, Devon hoped he wouldn't mind. Truthfully he didn't know. He wasn't breaking any 'rules' and that was all that mattered. Or should matter. He was reminded this morning who was in charge, not that he needed it. He'd never go against the Demon Lord. "I can shift into the talasa and I can carry you to the waterfall, if you'd like."

Sophia Goldenheart Sophia shouldn't care if he got in trouble with his boss, but she did, she didn't want him hurt on her account. When he seemed to think he wouldn't be breaking any rules set down for him, she nodded her head. If he could keep her safe from the creatures that lived here, then she really would like to leave the cabin for a bit. She blushed a little more as he said he could shift and carry her.
" You do not have to carry me, if you do not want to. I would not mind it, it would probably keep me safer if I ride on your back. Like you said, they would be stupid to go against a talasa. I do want to see the waterfall, it would be nice to get to rest,"she replied to him. She finished her breakfast and walked her plate to the sink, before turning to face him again.

"I don't mind carrying you. Heh, you know, you worry about the little things too much. It's kind of cute." Devon chuckled as he got up to put his plate in the sink. He didn't mean to say what he did aloud, but he had. "Come on, let's go." He headed outside with Sophia and turned into his talasa form, lowering himself to allow her to get on. He kept his wings closed as he trotted through the forest. After about an hour long trot, he stopped by a large lake that had a waterfall that was about five hundred feet tall. It was actually quite beautiful. He lowered himself once more so Sophia could come off.
"I hope the ride wasn't too bad." He spoke as he laid down by the water. He never did enjoy water no matter what form he was in. He bathed sure, but besides that he didn't need to get wet.

Sophia Goldenheart Sophia's face became a bright red as he said it was cute that she worried about the little things. When he changed and got down, she cleared her throat and climbed onto his back. She held on tightly as he made his way through the forest, glad that she was safe up here as she heard some of the sounds around them. When they finally got to the waterfall, she smiled softly as she climbed down, her eyes drinking in the beautiful scenery.
" I was fine, thank you for asking. And this place looks amazing, who knew the forest hid such a beautiful place like this,"she admitted quietly.

"Everything can hold 'beauty' if you just look for it." Devon replied. Beauty was in the eye of the beholder. Devon stretched out a bit as he kept an eye on Sophia. He was glad that she seemed to be enjoying the waterfall. Why was he glad though. He shouldn't be glad. Not like he should care.
After some time, he heard the shadows talking about. It seemed the Demon Lord and the King of humans had been working on a peace treaty and that they were to go back next morning. That was good. He'd be able to get away from Sophia then and clear his head. "Hey, Sophia." He stood up. "Seems tomorrow morning we'll be heading back to your home. Some sort of treaty or something was worked out."

Sophia Goldenheart Sophia had been taking off her boots to put her feet in the water, when he mentioned beauty could be in anything. Yes, she thought, even in demons, it would seem. Then she realized what she had thought and shook her head in confusion, why had she thought such a thing? He was a demon, he killed things, why would she think there was beauty there? She sat down at the water's edge and dipped her feet in, closing her eyes for a moment, enjoying the peacefulness. When he spoke about going on, her eyes opened and she felt a twinge of regret.
" Oh um...I didn't expect them to come to a treaty so soon. Guess it is best to get ready to go home then,"she replied.

Devon nodded his head. "I did not expect a treaty so soon either. However, the Demon Lord does work swiftly. And we can stay here a little while longer. It isn't like there is much to pack." He smiled though the smile wasn't exactly seen as he was in his talasa form. Just then, another talasa, one that was a bit larger than Devon landed near Sophia and snapped at her. (Up to you if she gets hurt)
Devon saw this and gave a growl as he ran at the other male talasa and head butted it. The two then took to the skies fighting each other. Biting and scratching. Devon was bit hard on his neck as he then tried to scratch the talasa. Devon grabbed hold of the other talasa and the two went spiraling down to the ground, both landing hard. Devon slowly stood up, though he had shifted back to his demon form once he had hit the ground. He was breathing hard as he summoned lightening and finished off the beast. Blood poured from his head, his neck and other parts of his body. He was exhausted. Talasa's where always a bitch to fight.
Devon then remembered Sophia and ran over to her. "Sophia! Are you all right?"

Sophia Goldenheart Sophia nodded, though she wished she didn't have to go home so soon. Yes, she missed her family, but she had kind of gotten used to being out here with Devon.
" Good, I would like to stay here a little long..."she began, before a real talasa appeared and snapped at her. She felt searing pain in her right arm and she cradled it, feeling the blood start to escape from the wound. She held it to her and watched as Devon and the talasa began to fight in the sky, she hoped Devon would win. When it seemed to be over, she showed him her arm when he asked if she was alright.

Devon inspected her arm, it didn't look broken, that was good. But she did need help. He couldn't use his magic on her. "I'm taking you home now. Get you seen by doctor. The powers I have aren't going to work on you. You need stitches." He frowned. This was his fault. He should have been paying more attention. He should have smelt the other talasa before it got too close. "I can't leave you there yet. But ... I don't see any other way." He frowned.

Sophia Goldenheart Sophia let him look at her arm, seeing if he was alright with her eyes as he examined her wound. When he mentioned taking her home, her eyes widened. First off, she couldn't believe he cared that much about her. Secondly, she wasn't sure she wanted to go home and potentially never see him again.
" Are you sure? I mean, we aren't supposed to go back until morning, they may be upset. And I am fine, really I am,"she spoke, but a wince of pain gave her away. She knew he couldn't heal her, that would probably hurt her more than she already was. She really needed a doctor to fix her up and she let out a resigned sigh.

Of course I'm not sure, Devon thought and gritted his teeth. "You're not fine." He grumbled as he embraced her. "We're traveling via shadows." He knew it would be a stretch on him to try to get them back at the castle, but he had to try. It was quicker than going as a talasa. The darkness embraced the two as they then shifted through the shadows. A little while later, they were in the castle, back in Sophia's room. He didn't know where the med bay was and figured this was a good place to stop. He stood weakly though, dizzy. He felt sick to his stomach and had no energy. He had pushed himself too hard. He leaned against the wall, slowly sliding down it, to sit. This was not good on his part. If he was found out he did not stand a chance at the moment.
"Go get help for yourself. I'll be in the shadows lurking." Devon mumbled. He wouldn't be in the shadows for some time. He had to recover and gather some energy back. He was more worried about Sophia still. His body would heal given time to rest.
