Devon Swirl Blackhart
Devon was grumbling as he lay in wait in the shadows. The Demon Lord had asked Devon to kidnap the human princess. He had asked why couldn't another demon do it. A low life demon perhaps, but that only ended with Devon getting lashes on the back. How dare Devon defy the Demon Lord. It had been rumored for quite some time that Devon seemed to be the Demon Lord's right hand. Truth of it was, the Demon Lord had raised Devon as his own the past seventy years. According to demon standards, Devon was just a young adult at this point in his life. Still young and learning how to use his powers. As a baby he had developed lightening skills way sooner than most demons. Whatever the cause for it was enough to catch the Demon Lord's eyes and take Devon for his own. However, Devon was never treated as the son of the Demon Lord. In fact, Devon felt like he was a low class demon more often than not. Demons have three main classes, the low-class or the low-life demons. Those are ones that either don't have much power or don't have any at all. Then you had the middle demons, the typical demons perhaps. These were usually used as pawns since they were able to hold their own for the most part with their powers. Then you have the high class, ones that are stronger than most demons and usually able to control more than one element.
Devon stayed still in the shadows as he looked outside. The moon was high which meant the princess should be retiring to her room at any given minute. His yellow eyes glowed, but would be unseen since the shadow ahead of him was covering him. "Come on princess." The sooner he got this done and over with the happier he was going to be. He hated being in the human lands. What was probably worse though was Devon was to keep this female alive and in a secluded cabin that sat in the middle of the No Return forest. How long he would keep her there was unknown. The Demon Lord just told him to bring her there and keep her alive. That he could do whatever he wanted to her as long as he didn't kill her. That might be hard to do, but Devon had a few things he had already thought about doing. Especially on the first night. Humans where weak, but the females, well they were weaker than the males. Which was also true in the demon world, for the most part.

Sophia Goldenheart
Sophia was the eldest child of Victor and Sylvia Goldenheart, so a lot was expected of the eighteen year old princess. From a young age, she was taught everything she needed to know to be a ruler. She learned different languages, different customs, even a little fighting, in case she needed it. Being the one that was expected to take the throne, her parents had been trying to have her meet suitors, so that she could find her husband among them. She was just coming from such a meeting with a new suitor, one she couldn't say she was too impressed with, but she had at least been polite and talked to him. She wished the perfect guy would just come and make things easier for her, she was tired of having to make small talk with men she had no interest in.
She got to her bedroom and got her nightgown out, a soft yawn escaping from her lips. She got out of her dress and into her nightgown, before going into the bathroom to put her hair up. Once that was done, she brushed her teeth, then climbed into her bed. Soon, the princess was sound asleep.

Devon turned his head to see the door open. It was the princess. He had not recalled her name, nor did he really care to. He watched her enter her bathroom. Watched her brush her teeth and other silly things that humans did to get ready for bed. When demons wanted to sleep they just slept. Humans always seemed to try to be 'clean'. It was a waste of time to worry about things like that. Especially when they were at war with the demons. It was annoyingly painful having to wait until this girl was snoring away.
Once Devon was certain that the female was asleep he slowly shown himself. He walked over to her bed, starring at her. He had been close to a human before, but that was to kill them. Never did he have the chance to just stand there and look at one. Let alone a female. She wasn't bad looking for a human, but no where near beautiful. He preferred his demon ladies. Horns and everything. Especially claws. He shook his head as he grabbed onto the female's shoulders and let the darkness of the shadows consume them. He knew he couldn't make it the entire trip to the cabin by shadow porting. He knew how to control shadows and use them to move, but long distances where always tiresome. More so when he was transporting another being with him. He reappeared with the princess outside of the city.
She was still asleep, which wasn't too surprising. Moving around via shadows never did cause much stir. He moved her and put her on his back as he shifted. Large wings spouted from his back as his body started to take form of a talasa. Which was a semi large dragon bird that most would just group in as a monster. The princess was on his back as he took off towards the skies and headed to the No Return forest. Once he neared the cabin, he landed and started to walk until he reached the door of the cabin. There he shifted back to his demon form and moved the female so he was carrying her in his arms. He opened the door, placed her on the bed, tying her wrists to the bed posts. "Heh, hope you sleep well, princess." The word princess dripped with annoyance. His yellow eyes studying her. It was already nearing daybreak and he hadn't gotten an ounce of sleep.

Sophia Goldenheart
Sophia had only stirred a little during the whole trip, especially when she felt a cold breeze while she had been riding him. She just had mumbled something about someone should close the window, without waking up at all. She didn't know she had been taken from her home and into the forest that many people feared. She didn't start to wake up, in fact, until the sun was starting to rise and she thought she heard a voice say 'Princess.' Her eyes opened up and she looked sleepily around, trying to sit up, but found she couldn't. That seemed to wake her up really quickly and she noticed she was not home anymore. She looked around and her eyes lit upon the demon standing there, before she was glaring at him.
"I demand you release me right this moment. My father is the king and when he finds out that you have kidnapped me, he will find you and kill you,"she said in an angry, regal voice. Did he not know it was a crime to kidnap, even worse to do so when it comes down to people of noble blood.

Devon arched a brow and then started to chuckle. "You're pathetic. Damn, if I wasn't given the order not to kill you, you'd be good as dead right now." Devon shook his head as he slowly stopped chuckling. "Do you really think I give a rat's ass that your father is the king? I could have easily gone in and killed your father last night. That wasn't the order but I could have. Clearly you have never dealt with a high class demon before." Devon narrowed his yellow eyes on her. "Humans are not able to kill high class demons. I have not met one single human that has done such a feat. To have you threaten me saying that your father will kill me, is an insult." He frowned a bit as he walked over to her and slapped her across the face. "You are currently my little 'pet' if you will. You will not be living your high life of a princess status. Not with me."
Devon leaned over so that their faces where inches apart. He stared directly into her eyes. "Having you stop this little act that you are superior than me, will help you greatly. If you don't, consider my words here, a fair warning. I'm already annoyed that I have to be the one to babysit a spoiled female human, one that I am not suppose to kill. Piss me off and you will see how a demon loves to play with his toy when he is forced to keep it alive." Devon stood back up after lingering a moment longer glaring into her eyes.
"Now, I know you are probably hungry. I can untie you, you can head to the kitchen, and you can figure out what you want to eat. If you try to run away or try to hurt me, you will be punished. The little faith of trust I have in you is small. Break it and you will not earn it back at all." Devon wasn't hungry. Demons didn't have to feed three times a day like humans often did. Sleep on the other hand, sounded good. He had been awake for nearly thirty hours now and he could use the sleep. Some demons needed more sleep than others, and for him he was one that enjoyed sleep a few hours a day. Devon was hoping that Sophia would play nice for now and find something to eat so he wouldn't have to cook for her too. He hadn't even asked her name yet, nor did he care to know her name. He had been told by the Demon Lord and he had chosen to forget it. He also had no intentions of giving the princess his full name. He would tell her if she asked that it was simply Devon. That was the high demons greatest weakness was if a human ever got their full name, they could chant their name into an ancient spell and render the demon useless.

Sophia Goldenheart
Sophia's eyes bore into him when he spoke about how he could have killed her father last night, but that wasn't the orders. Hearing that he couldn't kill her, it started to get her thinking, if that was the case, maybe she could flee as soon as his guard was down. She pushed that thought from her mind for the moment, listening to this demon go on about being some hot shot and she hissed in anger when he slapped her in the face. She would have placed her hand over where he had done so, but with her hands incapacitated at the moment, all she could do was have tears start forming in her eyes. She was not his pet, why did he say such a thing to her? Why was he even baby sitting her anyway, why would anyone even want her here? When he mentioned food, her ears seemed to perk up and she nodded her head.
"Yes, I am very hungry. Can you please release me, so I can have something to eat?"she asked as politely as she could muster. Maybe if she was polite, this would help for the moment.

Devon studied Sophia. He didn't care that tears had started to sting her eyes. He noticed the words that she used where polite. Oh how he hated politeness. The only time when demons heard such things was when a demon was begging for their life. Devon rubbed his temples as he thought about things. She seemed hungry; she didn't seem like she would flee. Devon walked over to the bedpost and untied Sophia's wrists. "You try anything funny, you will regret it." He studied her a little longer before heading towards the door. "Follow me, I'll show you where the kitchen is. Oh and," He smirked a little. "Even if you did flee the odds of you actually finding your way out of the No Return forest is well, you'd be dead." If by some chance she had managed to avoid all the monsters in the forest she'd have died of starvation before she found her way out.
Devon led Sophia to the kitchen. "I know it isn't much, but it should be stocked enough for you to find something you like to eat." Devon was told that a middle class demon had stocked the kitchen. The kitchen was stocked with fresh fruit, bread, there were eggs, chicken and a few other things. It was more based on human food than it was demon food. Which meant that Devon would have to go hunt down a monster to get some monster meat. Demons didn't eat chicken or cow like the humans did.

Sophia Goldenheart
Sophia rubbed her wrists as soon as he untied them, they were a little sore after being tied for a bit. She heard where he said they were and she gulped lightly. She had heard horror stories about such a place and she certainly did not want to be monster food. On the other hand, she also did not want to be some 'pet' to a demon either. She got to her feet and followed him into the kitchen, listening as he said they had the kitchen well stocked. How long did he plan for her to stay here, she wondered. She walked over and grabbed some bread and began to toast those.
"So do you have a name or am I just supposed to call you, demon master?"she questioned as she got her breakfast ready. Yes, she was used to servants doing this, but she had learned stuff from the cook.

Devon raised a brow and shook his head. "Demon master? That sounds silly. Devon." Devon had no problem sharing his first name it was the rest of his name that he would never repeat. Besides Devon, the only other being alive that knew his full name was the Demon Lord. And he was able to hold some power over Devon's name as well. "Devon is my name. I know your name starts with an S, but I honestly don't remember what your name is." Devon yawned a bit. Of course he was tired, but that didn't mean the was going to put his guard down. He had a task to do and he wouldn't fail. He watched her grab some bread and start to toast it. What was she doing? Why would anyone 'burn' bread. It just didn't sound good at all. Maybe humans liked things a bit more charcoal flavored? He shook his head at the idea to let it go. "Humans are so weird," He mumbled as he walked over and grabbed himself a glass of water.

Sophia Goldenheart
Sophia turned to him when he spoke his name and she committed it to memory..Devon, okay, she got it. When he spoke of only remembering her name began with an 'S,' she sighed, well at least he remembered that much.
"My name is Sophia, I suppose I should be happy you knew what letter it started with. And how exactly are we weird?"she asked, hearing his mumble. She saw that her toast was ready and she began to butter it, before trying to decide what she should eat next. She got some eggs out and started to make some sunny side up eggs to go with her toast. She was humming to herself a tune that her mother used to sing to her when she was little.

Devon narrowed his glance at her when she spoke that she should have been happy that he at least remembered her name started with an S. To him it sounded like she was being sarcastic though her voice did not drip with it. He would try to make a small effort in remembering her name. Human names held so little value. "You're cooking your bread." Devon starred at her and then listened to her hum. "You know what, I think the more I think on it, it's just you who is weird. More so than other humans." He leaned up against a spot on the wall and drank his water. "You're humming. Trying to act like this isn't so bad. Any humans that are often captured surely never acted like you. Then again, those humans where often chained and already being tortured." The later part was just Devon thinking aloud. It was true though. Demons usually did take a few humans hostage just to torture them. If there were any female humans, they became usually the middle class demons play thing. The males on the other hand where tortured by the middle class demons, sometimes the higher ranking ones too.
Devon continued to watch Sophia whom was not cooking eggs. When demons ate eggs, they just would crack the egg into their mouth and eat it that way. No cooking or anything. Just having the runny egg slide down into their throats. Again, the eggs the demons ate where monster eggs of birds. To Devon, it just seemed like a waste of time to cook everything. Eating was meant to be done swiftly so one could go back to their lives or duty.
Devon turned his head slightly towards the shadows on the wall he was standing by. Word had gotten back to the Demon Lord already that Devon had Sophia at the cabin. The shadows where just relying what they heard from the Demon Lord. Of course, one should not always fully trust the words the shadows speak of. They tend to enjoy gossiping and spreading false words. From what Devon would trust from what they spoke of was that the Demon Lord would be in contact with Devon within the following week to inform him of the next step of the plan. A week. A week to sit here babysitting the female. Well, at least if he had any sexual needs he would be able to take care of himself, just as long as he made sure not to kill Sophia.

Sophia stopped her humming and let out a hmmph. If she was freaking out, then he would just ccomplain about that too, wondering why she would do that. She figured she just couldn't win with him and it wasn't really like she had forgotten where she was. She was just biding her time, waiting for him to fall asleep or something. Then she could get out of here, she was sure she could handle anything that was in this forest, it was better than what was in this house with her. She finished preparing her breakfast and sat down to eat it, not saying much to him for awhile.
"I cook my bread because toast tastes good. Humans cook a lot of things, it is just the way it is, makes it safer for us. And excuse me for trying to stay calm when I have been taken from my home by a creep of a demon,"she finally spoke in an icy voice.

Devon just watched in silenced. It seems he might have struck a few chords with Sophia, in honesty it amused him to know he had. "Cooking things makes it safer for humans." He repeated as he tried to figure out how that would work. Let alone, bread was already dead. It wasn't like that came from the hide or muscle or anything from an animal or monster. "Bread is dead. Cooking it has no means to make it safer." Devon sighed with annoyance. "Whatever, just make sure whatever you cook doesn't kill you." He mumbled. He doubted that she would do anything to try to end her own life. One thing he knew about human royals was they didn't kill themselves off. They had too much to do for their 'people'. Why couldn't humans just learn they owed nothing to each other. Demons didn't do anything unless it was for their own good. To better only themselves. Nobody cared if you were low class, that was your own fault for not doing anything about it.
"Creep of a demon. You know I'm really not that bad of a guy," Devon smirked. "There are plenty of other demons out there that would have raped you by now. Beaten you. Done a hell of a lot worse than me just tying up your wrists." Devon glared at her with a smug smirk. "And staying calm, heh. You're acting. I can smell that you're afraid of me. You fear what I could do to you. What might happen to you. In a blink of an eye I can kill you and you will never see your parents ever again. They will have no idea what happened to you. They will never find your body." He could do that, he wanted to do that. He valued his life and wouldn't do that. Oh how he hated Sophia. Oh how he hated all the humans. Being here this close to one was boiling his blood.

Sophia Goldenheart
Sophia rolled her eyes, why in the world would she possibly do anything that would kill her? She had people who looked up to her, ones that she wanted to help them live better. There was no way she would kill herself, that was just preposterous. She soon had her food finished and when he spoke about her being afraid, she glared at him, wanting to tell him that was none of his business. Yes, she knew what demons could do and she was petrified, but she didn't want him to know that.
"The bread can be eaten either way, I just like it toasted for breakfast. And you say you could kill me, but obviously you can't. If you could, you would have done all those things you already said you could do,"she responded cooly.

Devon chuckled as he noticed her glaring at him. "Such an ugly look for you." He smirked. He frowned and scuffed a little as she mentioned that he could not kill her. He walked over to her and grabbed her by her shoulders, making her get up and pinned her against the nearest wall, where her feet dangled slightly from the floor. "I have orders not to kill you, but do not consider yourself immune to me. I can and I will hurt you if I must. You are NOTHING, do you understand? I might not be able to kill you but damn it I will do whatever the hell I feel like to you. Do you understand?" Devon glared into her eyes, his own golden eyes glowing. "You are beneath me, a bitch." He put her back down on the ground, and then shoved her.
Devon thought a bit. Once he got some thoughts together, he grabbed Sophia by the wrist and dragged her back to her room. He tore her dress, enough to be able to do what he wanted to her. He forcefully took her. Afterwards, he dressed himself and headed towards the door. He looked back at what he had done and with a smirk spoke, "You may want to rest." He shut the door once he left and headed to his own room and laid down on his bed and fell asleep himself.
