Sophia Goldenheart Sophia sighed, no, she really wasn't fine, but she didn't want him to worry so much about how she was. When she felt his arms around her, she could have melted into them, but she held on tightly as the shadows seemed to swallow them up. She closed her eyes and when she opened them, she was back in her room. She looked to Devon and could tell he was tired, but there really wasn't much she could do at the moment. She gave him a quick peck on the cheek.
" Hide as best as you can and I will be back as soon as I can,"she assured. She made her way out of her room and went to the med bay, to be patched up.

The servants where shocked to see their princess, but where all thrilled. They helped her get to the med-bay, all of them gossiping as the word their princess had returned echoed throughout the halls. One of the main doctors took a look at Sophia's arm, giving her some pain killers and numbing up her arm. Then he stitched her arm up, banding it as well. The doctors wanted her to stay in the med-bay to make sure she was completely fine. After all, she had been with a demon for the past couple of days. They kept her in a room in the med-bay with heavy guards.
Devon dare not enter the wall to hide in the shadows. With how weak he was the shadows could easily over take him. He hid out on the balcony and just sat there up against the wall. It was lies saying demons didn't enjoy the warmth and light. It was rare for them to be able to just sit outside like this so he took it up. He rested only a little a few minutes at a time. He was worried when the sun had gone down and Sophia still had not returned. He stood up, feeling a little better, and entered the shadows once more.
Devon managed to find his way to the med-bay, and into Sophia's room. He came from the walls and walked over to Sophia. "How are you feeling?" The wounds that Devon had sustained, most had healed. Though he still had a fair bit of dried blood over his body. He hadn't had a chance to wash up. He was still tired, but was all right for the most part.

Sophia Goldenheart Sophia watched as the servants made a fuss about her return, she should have expected this. She allowed them to help her to the med bay, where she gladly took the pain killers the doctor gave her. Then she waited as he numbed it and stitched her up, then wrapped her up in a bandage. When the doctor told her to stay longer, she wanted to protest, she wanted to get back to her room..where Devon was. She didn't argue though as she was put into a room and wondered what to do.
She had started to doze off, when she heard Devon's voice and her eyes snapped open. She was so glad he was alright, even if he was covered in dry blood. She had been worried about him, knowing that he was in her home and they did not take kindly to demons. When he asked how she was, she gave him a reassuring smile.
" I am fine, the doctor patched me up without any problems. He just decided I should stay longer, wanting to make sure I am perfectly fine. How are you doing?"she asked quietly.

"I'm glad you're all right. And I'm fine. Demons heal swiftly when the wounds aren't too major. Most of them have already healed up." Devon spoke softly as he studied her. Making sure she really was all right. He frowned a bit though, the shadows had been talking. He didn't know if he should bring it up or not. The shadows where saying the treaty that would be, was to have him, and Sophia wed. Along with two humans to be 'given 'to the Demon Lord. Claiming the Demon Lord would not kill them. He had no idea why. Let alone, he was not exactly liking the idea that he would be 'stuck' in the human world. "The treaty, that your King and the Demon Lord spoke, that you and I are to....wed." Devon had wanted to get away from the humans. Especially away from her. She was clouding his judgment.
Devon walked over to the window, again not wanting to look at her. He had mixed emotions on his as well. Mainly hating this. Even if Sophia was nice and seemed to be caring, he didn't want that. He wanted to be back in his homeland, doing what he knew all his life.

Sophia Goldenheart Sophia let out a sigh of relief when he said he was fine, she had been worried, considering he had been the one that had been in the fight. She had just gotten bitten, that was all. She was quiet a moment, until he heard him speak, her eyes widened in surprise. Did she hear him right, did he just say the treaty was for them to be wed?!? Her heart hammered in her chest, a part of her liking that idea..more than she would have expected. The other part, well, it didn't understand why and noticed him look away.
" If you would rather go back to your home, I can see about talking to Daddy. Maybe I can change his mind. I figure you would rather a demon mate,"she spoke ever so softly. She looked down at the hands in her lap, she couldn't see how a demon would be happy with a human for a mate. He had saved her, but only because he had to, not because he wanted to.

"I do as I am told. If the Demon Lord wants me to marry you, I cannot ask for any other way." Devon's words may have been more harsh than he realized. There were worse fates out there, and for the most part he's able to adapt at whatever is thrown at him. "Besides, I don't want to risk the peace treaty. And honestly, I don't care what I end up with a mate. I honestly just assumed I'd never end up with a mate. I don't...didn't, have time to worry about that." He then shrugged a bit and looked back at her. "Besides, there are worse fates out there. At least this one the majority of us stay alive." He cursed himself. He knew if he ruined this treaty he would be the one to get it. If the humans backed out, surely that would be his death.
Devon shook his head and sat down on the edge of her bed. "Who's to say that this wouldn't work anyway. It might." Devon thought a bit longer. "I just...just don't expect me to know all of your human ways. I'm willing to learn on some things, but there are plenty of things you humans do that you can keep for humans." Again his words where harsher than what he really meant. Truth of it was, things could be worse.

Sophia Goldenheart Sophia winced when she heard his words, but she didn't look at him. He just saw this as some kind of thing he had to do, this wasn't what she wanted. She didn't know why his words effected her right now, it shouldn't, she shouldn't care at all. He was a demon, of course he should think and feel that way. That's what her brain said, but somehow what he said hurt her and it hurt her worse than the wound she had.
" I don't expect you to learn all of our ways, anymore than I would think you would expect it of me if I had to go to your world. And I am sorry I am such a burden to you,"she said cooly. She had tears in her eyes, why in the world was she crying? Did she not want to marry him? No, she felt..drawn to him, though she didn't know why. But it made what he said feel more like business, she was just going to be some kind of..trophy for her, nothing more.

Devon was glad that she saw it his way when it came to learning the others world. "Huh, hey you aren't a burden to me." Devon looked at her. She had ears in her eyes. Why? He reached his hand out and gently placed his hand on her cheek and brushed away some of the tears that had escaped from her eyes. "I'm not good with this kind of thing. Whatever ...'this' is." Devon could guess perhaps 'love' was the emotion she was feeling. For him? Well he felt like he didn't want to kill her, so that was a start. She was the only human he didn't want to kill. "I'm not one that typically believes in fate, but is this not what you humans would say fate is? That 'fate' brought us together?" Devon was trying to lighten the mood but clearly had no idea how. Nor what words to really say.

Sophia Goldenheart Sophia felt his hand on her cheek, wiping away her tears and she managed to look up at him. Her heart skipped a little as he spoke about her not being a burden and then again when he mentioned fate. No, she had never thought something like this would happen, but maybe this was their fate. Maybe together they could issue in a new world, one where human and demon actually lived in peace.
" Maybe you are right, fate brought us together. I guess I just thought you wouldn't want some human princess. I did give you a lot of trouble,"she reminded. Her first day with him had been a nightmare for both of them.

Devon shrugged. "I gave you trouble too, after all." He mumbled a bit. Sure he was doing his job, but he was the one to kidnap her. He was the one to have his way with her. "Don't you think you're weird?" He studied her. "If anything wouldn't you want to be with someone else other than me? I still technically am your 'kidnapper'. At least until the treaty is fully announced."
Devon thought a bit longer before talking again. Once more he was not sure the words to use. "Look, there are worse humans out there if I am going to be forced to marry. You aren't that bad. At least I don't want to kill you, anymore."

Sophia Goldenheart Sophia tried to think of how to answer his question, she did think she was a little weird. This is the one who had kidnapped her and had his way with her, she shouldn't care about him at all.
" I don't understand it myself, I don't want to kill you either. When you took me, I wouldn't have minded your head on a pike, for what you did to me. I should hate you with every fiber of my being, but I just can't anymore. When you got hurt protecting me, I...I worried about you. My own wound was nothing, I didn't want anything bad to happen to you,"she spoke, trying to put her thoughts into words.

Devon studied her, trying to make sense of her words. This was not the first time she was worried about him. He had also found himself worrying about her earlier. When the talasa had bite her, he panicked. Not just for the fact that he feared the Demon Lord would be upset with him, but for the fact she was seriously injured. Sure he had injured her when he took her as his own. He didn't get it. "I guess...it is what it is. At least this is a good start to the soon to be announced treaty. Why don't you get some more rest. I'll find a place to hang back myself. I'll see you, in the morning." Devon stood up and seemed to just disappear.
((Skip to morning, Dea where the King is announcing the peace treaty. I'll play Demon Lord if you want to play the King))

Sophia Goldenheart Sophia had nodded and fallen asleep, able to do that until morning greeted her. She woke up and was checked over again by the doctors, to make sure she was alright. Then they told her that she needed to get dressed in her best dress and meet the king on the balcony, the one where he made all his important speeches. She guessed that it must be time for the treaty to be announced. So she rushed off to her room to change her clothing and meet her dad on the special balcony. The king hugged his daughter as soon as he saw her, making sure with his eyes that she was alright.
" Alright, I think it is best that we get this started. The people have been gathered in the square below and they know I have an important announcement to make. Are we ready?"he asked the others in a deep voice. Sophia nodded her head, she was as ready as she was going to be with this.

Devon appeared out of the shadows near the balcony, nearly scaring the piss right out of the king. He smirked a little, he didn't mean to scare him, it was just easier for him to appear that way. Besides the Demon Lord already was there. Devon looked over at Sophia and was curious as to why she was dressed in such a fine outfit. A dress that looked like would get caught when on the move. Seemed silly to wear such a thing. His golden eyes shifted back to the humans that he saw in the square. How easy it would be to just kill them all since they stood so close. It was as if they were gift wrap. Devon gritted his teeth when he felt a sharp blow to his stomach. No one had seen it, but the Demon Lord knew what Devon was thinking.
The Demon Lord and the King spoke together stating the there would be a peace treaty between the demons and the humans. One that would unit them. The treaty would last for five years and then be relooked at. Every year, two humans over the age of sixteen would be given to the demons. The humans were shocked being in disbelief. That is when the King had mentioned it was well worth it over the lives they had already lost. The Demon Lord spoke up saying the humans would not be killed and would be allowed to see their family a few times out of the year. Then, they announced that their eldest princess, Sophia, would wed Devon. One of the strongest demons. Again there was shock and whispers amongst the humans.
Once everything was finished Devon walked away from the balcony. "I see the shadows did not just gossip rumors this time. So...when am I to wed, Sophia." Devon looked up at the Demon Lord as if this was just another task for him. Even if Devon really did not want to go through with this, he didn't have a choice. At least he was not minding it.
The Demon Lord and the King spoke up. "Tomorrow in the early morning."

Sophia Goldenheart Sophia saw Devon looking in her way and she blushed lightly, not knowing he was wondering about the dress. She watched as her father turned to the crowd and told them with the demon lord's help about the treaty between the humans and demons.
" Do not worry, those chosen will be perfectly safe, the demon lord has assured me of this. And I am giving my own daughter's hand in marriage to one of their high ranking demons. So even I have to make a sacrifice with this one. This will all be better in the long run, with not all of these deaths because of the war between our two people,"he explained to the crowd. He heard their murmurs, before he headed back into the castle with the other three. He saw the surprised look on his daughter's face when it was mentioned how soon the wedding was.
" So will Devon stay here with us or the other way around?"Sophia asked. She knew Devon had mentioned learning human ways, but neither had said which world they would live in.
