Caitlyn Wallace noble of little rank Caitlyn nodded and followed Lloyd as they left the kitchen. She was relieved not to arrive with immediate trouble and was more than dissappointed when they had almost reached her house and encountered the group of men. She had expected their actions, had learned over the years to shield herself from the words of others, but this time thier words stung. Lloyd's back was to her and she was relieved that he didn't see her eyes water. She knew that it was partially his fault, in a few short hours it seemed the wall she had built came crashing down around her. She bit her lip and looked away as Lloyd dealt with the strangers, then with his good natured demeanor tried to brush it off. She was distracted in her thoughts, she did not know why others insisted that all she wanted to do was hurt people. Yeah she could be a bitch, that was her defense mechanism, but she never.... her thoughts were interrupted when he talked.
"Oh... yeah," she muttered when she comprehended what he said. "We are almost there... thank you..." she added and started forward again not meeting his gaze. She was not one to let anyone see how shaken up she really had been. She didn't talk the rest of the way to her home and stopped as they reached the gates she paused and looked at Lloyd. "I'll be a few, if you want you can go an I'll catch up with you." she muttered. She waited just long enough to hear his response and walked inside. She was not surprised to see the household was quiet, she figured her father was out talking to the other nobles, trying to convince them that she had nothing to do with what happened. As hard as he was, he never did once question her intentions.
She packed her bags quickly, gathering everything she knew she would need on the journey. She had planned since the first day she read books on the different regions that she would like to experience, now she was going to put that knowledge to the test. Once she was certain she had everything, she scribbled a note for her father. Telling him she was going to stop Sen, and prove that not every magic user had evil intentions. She purposely made no mention of Lloyd. Everything set she went to the stables to grab her mare and walked out not seeing Lloyd. She silently said good bye to her home and placed her hood on her head and set out where she had agreed to meet him. It was a relief for her at this moment, not to hide the pain she felt about everything that happened today. She left feeling that when she returned home things were going to be very different. She didn't know if it was going to be good or bad.

Lloyd Scott Middleton/ Alan Pratt Drayton
High ranking Noble / Thief
Lloyd felt bad for Caitlyn. He may not have seen her hurting, but he put himself in her shoes. If he had been talked to like that, it'd hurt. It kind of did a little though to be honest. About him being dumb. It wasn't the first time nor would it be the last time he'd hear that, he was sure of it. Though usually he got the nicer word of just being naïve. He tried to come up with ideas to strike a conversation for the rest of the way, but was unable to. It just didn't feel right striking one up now. Besides, he didn't want to risk being overheard. It wasn't long until they reached Caitlyn's estate. "I'll meet you up at the tree. Be careful." Lloyd went on his own after Caitlyn got inside.
Lloyd wondered the streets. He got close to the city gates and slowed down. He grabbed a rather large stone and chucked it towards the two guards that stood watch. One guard went to check it out while the other stayed. Lloyd had already grabbed an old cloak and put up the hood. He headed out of the gate with little trouble with the one guard. Lloyd then followed the walls for some time until he ran into the stable boy. "Thanks, I owe you. I don't know when I'll be back but ...just tell my parents I love them and that I'll come back." The boy nodded his head as he handed Lloyd the reins. Lloyd mounted his horse and headed straight for the large tree.
Once there, Lloyd noticed someone else, on a horse, there. "Who are you?" Lloyd called out. The man on the horse showed himself and came closer to Lloyd. Lloyd did not recognize the young man, but he did recognize the horse. That was the old mans horse, no mistaking it. "Where'd you get that horse?"
"Names Alan and this is my horse. Look, I'll explain it all to you later. We met briefly at that tavern earlier tonight. I overheard your conversation about stopping Sen. Getting the Crystalized Fragments. I can help. I know a bit about the old legends about those crystals. Might even know where one is right now." Alan studied Lloyd whom already seemed quite filled with excitement. "Plus, I've traveled a lot. I know my way around the world. I also suggest not going to the nearest town. You do that the guards will have you tracked and found within a day. I suggest following me and we camp out in the forest that's a few hours away on horseback. They wont look there for a noble." Alan had to try to make himself seem trustworthy. Usually that wasn't too hard, though he knew the red haired girl, Caitlyn, would be questioning him a lot more than what he had just given. Thing of it was, they didn't have time for Alan to sit there and explain everything. It wouldn't be long before they, the guards, knew that their precious Lloyd was missing.
Lloyd was excited hearing all of what Alan said. He supposed he made sense too. He had been thinking about going to the next town and resting there, but he was probably right. The guards probably would find him there easily. "That's right. I remember you vaguely from the tavern. Just to make sure you didn't steal the horse right?" He saw Alan shake his head no to confirm he hadn't. "All right. I'm fine with you joining in as long as Caitlyn is. And speaking of her," Lloyd had heard the hooves of another horse nearing. "Caitlyn, glad to see you had no trouble." Lloyd smiled. "This is Alan, I met him earlier and it seems he overheard our conversation. He says he may know where one of the Crystalized Fragments are. Plus he's travelled around a lot. We sure could use him." Lloyd studied Caitlyn hoping that she would agree to have Alan come along. There surely was turning into the epic adventurer group.
Alan smiled at Caitlyn and bowed his head slightly. "Exactly what Lloyd said. I always thought the crystals where just a legend, but if that guy Sen is looking for them and has found some already. Well, I want in on trying to stop Sen." No, he didn't want to stop Sen at all. He doubted the bastard of a mage would really be able to collect all the crystals. Let alone use them to take over the world or whatever it was he wanted to do. Alan didn't care much for mages. Not that he'd go out of his way to hurt them or belittle them. He had already heard that Caitlyn was a mage by all the talk in town. In fact, he probably would be able to pick out all the mages in the city thanks to the gossip of the recent event with Sen. Still, going down underground into what was more than likely a crumbled and dangerous, monster filled cavern, was a stupid idea by oneself. Going with others, he at least had a better chance of staying alive. Whether he used Lloyd and Caitlyn as bait to get away, well one would just have to wait and see. "I do suggest we hurry up with the decision though. The longer we stay the higher odds the guards will be coming for Lloyd. And the chances of both you and I," Alan looked at Caitlyn. "Would be accused of kidnapping, him." He nodded his head towards Lloyd.

Caitlyn Wallacenoble of little rank Caitlyn had finally composed herself when she arrived at their meeting spot. She was a little surprised to see the second person there, but her mind was too distracted with others thoughts at the moment to really care. They had barely even left and she was starting to have second thoughts, she didn't really know either of these men and that scared her. Lloyd tried to explain to her what Alan had said and she sighed. Especially after how Alan spoke to her about Lloyd's parents accusing her of kidnapping. It was something they would do, and very possible with how the situation the sides might favor his parent's. But in reality she wasn't too worried about that, If she was charged she would tell them the truth, or some story about how he must have over heard her plans and followed her... Given's Lloyd's track record, she doubted that she would really be convicted. Considering the fact that she had a set of enlarged mammary glands, They'd likely believe what she said. Especially with the fact that so many people had seen her rebuttals of Lloyd's attentions.
"The two of are not going to be enough Lloyd, I don't trust him, especially seeing the horse he is riding. But right now he has knowledge and experience, A general idea of what to do, and a place that we won't be found... All of which we need." She muttered after a long time of debating. She was honestly at this point, too tired and worn out to really care. "Let us get to this forest, out of sight and trouble, and we can decide for real, after we have cleared being caught and dragged back by your family." Her mood was still sour, and she knew that at this point she couldn't turn back. There was too much at stake if she did, and she would never forgive herself. But at this point and time all she could really come to care about was finding a place to sleep.

"I don't exactly expect for either of you two to trust me right away. You'll learn to though. I'm sure of that." Alan smirked a little. "But yes, the sooner we leave the better." Alan looked at Lloyd who nodded in agreement. A few hours later they arrived to a small abandoned, falling apart cabin that was set in the middle of the forest. "Not the best place, but it's better than camping on the cold ground." Even Alan hated camping on the cold ground. However, the cabin wasn't too large. One bedroom, two room place. He dismounted his horse and tied him up to a tree. He headed inside the cabin, opening a very creaky door to the inside which one could tell just how dusty the place was. Alan had used this place a few times within the past several months, but he never really cleaned it up. It was just a place to stay for the night when he needed to rest or lay low for awhile.
Lloyd was actually quite tired. The stars where still out, which meant a few more hours yet of night but he was sure the sun would be coming up soon enough as well. Lloyd dismounted his horse and also tied him up. He followed Alan into the small cabin. It sure wasn't home, but he supposed this is what adventurers do. "Hey, Kitten, why don't you take the bed. Alan and I will figure out who can have the couch and who can get the chair." He smiled as he looked around the cabin.
"My cabin, my couch. You can have the chair or floor, Lloyd." Alan looked over at him. He didn't mind helping them since he was using them, but he'd be damned if he was going to lose sleep over this. He headed over to the couch and laid down, covering himself up with a blanket. "I suggest getting as much shut eye as you can since we'll be discussing where we'll be heading in the morning."
Lloyd sighed and shrugged. He grabbed two blankets. One to use as a makeshift pillow and one as an actual blanket. He looked over at Caitlyn. "Have a good night." He smiled as he laid down on the floor.
In the morning, Alan was already up early. He was cooking some scrambled eggs for their breakfast. It wasn't much, but it was something. Besides, he didn't exactly trust nobles to cook for him. From what he knew nobles didn't cook for themselves and many had no idea how to cook. He wasn't going to risk eating something that may not be that ...good. He also had grabbed a map out and had it laid out on the falling, apart table. He had found the correct woods of where he wanted to go. He marked it on the map.
Alan was trying to figure out just how much supplies they would need and what he currently had. How far he could get them before he would have to stop at a town. Alan grabbed his portion of the scrambled eggs and sat down at the table studying the map. He figured he'd be able to get them two days worth of travel before stopping. He wasn't sure what they had though. Which meant, they could stop at the town of Oakland. Which was only a town away from the woods he needed to get to. He also was studying some of the words on the map. The map was in Dwarven. Alan hadn't used Dwarven for awhile but he still knew most words. All he needed was to see the words again or just start thinking about it. It sure would have been easier if his grandfather...or even bastard of a father was there speaking only in Dwarven all day and night. He'd have it all remembered again instantly instead of digging up the language. He may have been rusty but most would probably still consider him quite fluent in it.
Lloyd slowly started to stir, though not exactly wanted to get up. He pulled the blanket over his head trying to fight the light that was shinning in. A little while longer, he finally managed to sit up, stretching. His body ached; surely he wasn't use to sleeping on the floor. He walked over to Alan and gave a yawn with the word, "Mornin." Without much thought or really remember where he was he just grabbed some eggs and took a place at the table and began eating. He was still half asleep.
Alan sat there, starring at Lloyd. Sure he had said morning, but he questioned if the man truly was awake. It was almost amusing to watch the man stumble a bit and get lucky. With whatever luck, Lloyd had, he managed to find where the plate was, the eggs, and even a glass to fill it up with water. Then he sat down at the table and just began to eat. Did he even know where he was? Surely he wasn't that dumb to still think he was back at his estate, would he? Finally, after a few minutes, Alan replied. "Morning."

Caitlyn Wallace noble of little rank Alan led them to a small little house in the forest, Caitlyn hadn't said a word during the whole trip, at this point using all her focus just staying awake and upright on her horse. She was relieved when they had finally made it to where Alan was leading them. Then Alan and Lloyd "talked" about where everyone would sleep and Caitlyn was surprised that somehow both men decided she would get the bed and took their spots respectively. Too tired to protest, she crawled into the bed and fell into what varied between a fit-full, and solid sleep.
Normally Caitlyn was an early riser, though not this particular morning. The water creature and yesterday's events taking it's toll on her. She had awoken long after she heard Alan cooking in the kitchen and Lloyd stirring himself. Even still she didn't move right away, taking this moment to study both the men she had agreed to travel with. Her mind had come to the realization that they were both dangerous, for what at this point she deemed for two very different reasons. Lloyd, was naive and often acted before he thought, somehow he also managed to get under her skin and past the barriers that she had made to protect herself. Convincing her with little effort to join him, partially because she worried for him, and because he opened up the doorway for her to think about how she can improve her life. Alan was the opposite, even from the distance she was, she could see that he was calculating, as he sat over a map seeming to be lost in his thoughts. Then there was the fact that he had the horse, the same horse that the old man whom tried to get money from Lloyd had yesterday. She knew it wasn't a coincidence. She knew that Lloyd would be too quick to trust him too... Caitlyn once again found herself questioning the sanity of this mission that she had let Lloyd talk her into. But she knew the time to return home was over, Things would be far worse for her if she did. Because at this point she might really be labeled for kidnapping Lloyd, or labeled a coward that couldn't even follow through and protect her father's honor.
No, she had to stick things through. But she had time and she wasn't naive. She could find another group that may consider taking her in. She was sure she could find people that weren't nearly as dangerous to her as these men here. A group where her shield were strong enough to hold and everyone was competent enough to take care of themselves. Or she could go off on her own... Hubert... he would help her, the hum of his energy she always felt would confirm that. With the help of a dragon she could manage. She would have to be careful though, Something told her she would not be able to just leave... Lloyd would probably follow her and Alan for some reason felt that having them both around was important. She also had to break past the thoughts that she couldn't allow herself to keep worrying about what would happen to Lloyd if she did.
She forced herself out of bed. If she was going to be traveling with these men, for who knew how long, she needed to make sure that they all in a sense knew the plan as to what they were doing. Lloyd, was groggy and still in the grips of sleep, and Alan was by far alert and calculating, both was enough to put her on her guard as she grabbed her own plate and sat down to eat. "Morning," She spoke to acknowledge their presence, and started to eat. She found a simple assurance in the food that Alan had made, realizing that at least he knew how to cook... this mission was not going to be completely bad. It was a small positive in the list of negatives that her brain had already just cooked up.

Alan looked up at Caitlyn when she came into the small kitchen. He watched her a moment or two before looking back at the map. "You seem more awake than, Lloyd does. Maybe I shouldn't be so surprised at it, but I am." He just assumed any and all nobles just where overall lazy people. Though he had to admit, seeing these two already come out and about and wanting to save the world, they might be different kind of nobles. If there was such a thing. "I already know that both of you are probably questioning me. I'm not dumb." He shifted his gaze up at Caitlyn. He knew both of them had recognized his horse, not that it was surprising. "I was going to wait until he was more awake, but it seems that may be some time." He looked over at Lloyd whom seemed quite content on eating his breakfast.
"Anyway, my name really is Alan, and that really is my horse. I ah...when we first met that was me, the old man. I dressed up. I do that a lot since I like to beg for money instead of working for it. I travel a lot so working really isn't easy." Alan shrugged a bit. "Call me an ass if you want, but it's what I do." Alan was waiting for Caitlyn to reply when suddenly it was Lloyd who spoke up instead.
"Old man...he is a nice guy." Lloyd clearly still half asleep and barely listening to whatever it was Alan just said. He gave a yawn as he finished eating, bringing the plate to the sink. "Going to shower." He mumbled as he left the kitchen. It was only a matter of time for Lloyd to realize that this place had no shower. Then it finally dawned on him, he wasn't home. "Huh...oh." Lloyd walked back into the kitchen, seemingly more awake. He smiled and once more said, "Good morning. Hey, looks like you got something circled on the map."
Alan looked over at Lloyd and just shook his head. Not even five minutes ago this was the guy that was barely functioning and now he acted like nothing happened. "Yea...Anyway, Lloyd, did you hear about my story about me being the old man and that."
"Huh, you an old man?" Lloyd thought a moment trying to recall what the conversation was. Alan repeated the story and Lloyd thought about it. "Oh, well I guess that makes sense on why you have the horse. Though, begging?" Lloyd honestly didn't think much on beggars if mainly for the fact he didn't think they really existed. He had coin to spare and just gave it away like rain. If anyone asked him for something he never thought twice and got it for the person. "So do you cross dress too?"
Alan glared at Lloyd. "No I do not cross dress." Alan was a bit annoyed by the idea even. He kept to dressing up as male characters of his. Alan sighed as he went back to his original thoughts with where they were going to go. "I already been planning out where we need to go. I haven't checked the supplies you guys brought, but I doubt it's really much for actual traveling. Traveling with one person one can go for a week easily with the bare basics. Going in a group, well our supplies will run down quickly. We should be able to have a couple days worth of supplies before needing to stop at a town. Which is good since I'm sure plenty of guards will be trying to track you down." His gaze shifted to Lloyd. This was a bit more dangerous than he originally planned. Still, if he could get his hands on even one of those crystals, he'd be set for a long time.
"This town here, Oakland, we should be able to get there in two days and restock there. Our goal is these woods here. From my knowledge, there is an underground opening somewhere that leads to an abandoned Dwarven city. That city was once famous for the house of Drayton. Anyway, they apparently had to leave everything behind when they were ambushed by large packs of monsters, mages, and others who just hate dwarves." Humans and dwarves hadn't gotten along for many years. Humans sought the dwarves out for their fine, strong armor and often threatened them to make it. Dwarves on the other hand, don't like listening to anyone other than themselves. Thus what started a war between them centuries ago. Now, of course, there wasn't any war, but there was still a rough patch between the two races. "Apparently the house of Drayton held the Earth Crystal in one of their hidden chambers. It's worth a shot to see if we can find it. I know I can get us there if it truly does exist." Alan explained.
Lloyd's eyes lit up. "That's great! That's our first actual lead!" Lloyd looked over at Caitlyn. "I bet we'll find it no problem and before Sen does! Though...I do have a question. Why is Sen questing these crystals anyway? I mean...well I don't know much about them." He frowned a bit hoping one of them knew the answer.

Caitlyn Wallace noble of little rank She ate and listened to Alan as he spoke. She did not comment on his comment about being surprised she was awake. What he though about her and her habits didn't matter to her.She eyed him carefully taking another bite of her food. He kept talking, confirming what she suspected when he explained about his horse, going a step farther, and explaining that it was his way of life. Caitlyn bit the inside corner of her cheek at that statement, a tell of her irritation she managed to hide fairly well taking another bite of her food. She wasn't stupid, she knew that times were hard. That too many people went to bed at night with their stomachs empty, working hard and deserving far more that what they earned. If he was one of those, that resorted to begging on the side, she may have not been so annoyed by what he said. There would be some hint of honor there. Instead, Alan coated himself in a cloak of trickery and lies, and that did not instill in her a desire to travel with him. Even if he was telling her the truth, he just admitted to the fact that he has a habit of lying.
From the way Alan looked at her, it was obvious he expected her to say something, but Lloyd interrupted with his still in his sleepy stupor. Lloyd mumbled something about old men and then going to get a shower and Caitlyn sighed. When he wandered off she turned back to Alan. "I will not result in insults, but know this Alan, I don't trust you. Not one bit, and you just confirmed that it is wise that I don't." She ate another bite of her food not caring if Alan responded. Lloyd wasn't gone for long before he rentered, far more alert than he was just a few minutes before. Caitlyn let him talk knowing that he at this point had a better chance of getting a straight answer from Alan. She just listened as he released his pitch about the fragment in the Dwarven ruins. It seemed fairly reasonable. Lloyd then asked the question she did not expect to hear from him. He asked about the fragments and why Sen was interested in them.He was the man that had sent them on this journey and he didn't know about the items they were looking for. The very same items that put his family on the throne. She sighed. "There is much speculation about them, their presence died from historical record when your ancestors took the throne, they are eight pieces of a whole, each taking on an elemental power. When all eight are combined, have the power to change the world as we know it. There are arguments as to what they can change, but they granted your great-great-great- (insert number of greats) distant relative the power to claim the throne." Caitlyn was a little fuzzy on the history, this being a segment in her books she wouldn't like to admit, but often skimmed over in her readings. She had studied more in depth the history before the world had been changed. She had studied much in the means of the elemental powers themselves. "Myth, indicated that the fragments were made by the Gods, that after many horrible disastrous events, deemed the original stone held to much power for humanity to hold with out their guidance. They broke the stone apart and hid the fragments, guarding them by the elements the archetypes of the elements they were bound to. From myth, they were only to be found and reunited when the gods permit... or feel change needs to be made..."

Alan arched a brow when Caitlyn said she wasn't trusting him. He shouldn't have been surprised in the least. She was calculating, but so was he. "I have not given you reason to trust me, yet. In time I'm sure you will learn to trust me." He smiled a bit. He didn't care if she trusted him or not. He hadn't played well with anyone really since his brother Andrew died. Sure he slept around and got to know the ladies whenever he needed a night out, but that wasn't playing well with anyone. He didn't trust others. He wasn't going to trust others. There was no reason to. Especially when one could not trust their own parents growing up.
Alan couldn't say he was surprised when Lloyd admitted he really had no idea about the crystals. He was glad that Caitlyn chimed in and explained what they where. Alan could have filled in a little more saying that the dwarves knew plenty about the crystals. At least his grandfather did. Still, he was hoping to only go to him if he really had to. He hadn't seen him in over ten years and he really had no intention on wanting to go back to his home town. Still, if it meant striking it rich, why not. It would be worth it.
Lloyd listened to Caitlyn. "So that's what they are. Now that you mention it, that does ring a bell. I think I was taught about the crystals at a young age, but...kind of forgot about it." He chuckled a little shrugging it off. Though he recalled seeing the one in the castle before. "Hm...if they are of elements then I wonder about the one Sen recently got from the royal family. I think that one might have been the water one. I really can't remember, though." Lloyd walked over by Alan and looked over at the map. "Uh...hey how come I can't read this."
Alan shifted his gaze at Lloyd. If he didn't have to have his guard up he'd probably have asked if he was truly this stupid. "It's a Dwarven map. I know the language isn't taught to humans, but I still thought people knew what Dwarven looked like." Alan still managed to slip that in, if anything to ease him a bit. "Anyway, are we all settled in then with my plan? Pack up, get going shortly and make our way to Oakland. The more distance we put between us and the Capital the better." He really did not think the guards would go as far out to Oakland to search. At least not at first. Chances are the neighboring towns would be bombarded with guards and searched high and low for Lloyd. Perhaps Caitlyn too since she may be seen as a 'traitor' or something. Alan on the other hand, if he had to, could just slip away.

Caitlyn Wallace noble of little rank She didn't like his grin but she didn't say anything. She doubted that she would trust him, it didn't seem all too likely. She continued to eat her meal in silence and gathered her supplies afterwards. While not in obvious manner she checked her bag to make sure that everything she had packed the night before was still there. She wasn't going to let her guard down, not around the man that admitted to stealing in real life. She heard their discussion about the Dwarven map Alan was using and tried not to let her curiosity of the language be enough for her to lower her guard and join them. No, showing any curiosity, was a weakness and weaknesses are bad.
They resumed traveling again, shortly after breakfast everyone agreeing the further they got from home the better. They made it to their destination by the end of the night, and seeing as it was too dark to start searching for the dwarven entrance Alan had told them about while they were heading that way. They booked rooms at the Oakland Inn, and Caitlyn had her own, a small single room and Lloyd and Alan decided that it would be best they both shared one with two beds. It was a good idea for them to do what they could, especially with their uncertainty of how long they would be there. She wasn't sure what Alan and Lloyd were going to do that night, but she knew that she had plans reading one of the books she had grabbed from her father's bookshelf. She might go out later, and learn what she could about alan. If she was going to consider finding another team, the first thing she had to do, was know the drinking habits of her current one.

Alan wasn't quite 'glad' he was sharing a room with Lloyd, but it wasn't like he could change it. It was a waste of coin to get them all a single room. All he could hope for was that perhaps they could fall asleep swiftly and soon enough it would be daybreak and they could go out hunting for that dwarven entrance.
Lloyd looked over at Alan, right before the two where about to get ready for bed. "Hey, Alan, how about you and me go hit up the towns tavern?" Lloyd already had considered Alan his friend.
Alan thought a moment, not really wanting to turn down what was probably going to be 'free' drinks. "Two conditions. One, you don't buy anyone else a drink besides us. They don't know you here and if by some reason you start acting like your typical self like at the capital tavern, someone may recognize you and turn us in. Two, you do not go about telling stories of our journey. If women want to talk to us, great, but we do not draw attention to ourselves. Is that clear? If you break either one of those rules I will knock you out and bring you back to the inn just claiming you were a insanely drunk."
Lloyd pouted a little bit, but slowly agreed. "All right. I'll be good." The two headed to the tavern and drank. Lloyd stopped at the line of being tipsy whereas Alan drank more than Lloyd could humanly think was possible. It took quite some drinks too before Alan started to get drunk. The two had a good time and of course, they each brought back a female to their room at the inn.
In the morning, the ladies had already left. Alan was slow to stir. His head killing him. He barely remembered what had even happened last night. He slowly brought himself to a seated position in the bed. Though he grabbed the covers and pulled them over his head. His eyes drastically hurt by the light. "Fucking A..." He mumbled as he just sat there trying to adjust to everything. An hour or so later, he at least was able to get out of bed. Though the covers still over his head. He ended up crashing into the chair that was in the room, and he continued to stumble around a bit cursing away.
Lloyd was awoken by Alan's movement. More awake then normal, since Lloyd thought perhaps he was being attacked with all the loud crashes. He looked around to see a 'ghost'. He grabbed a book that was on the nightstand and threw it at the 'ghosts' head. Which knocked the blankets off and revealed a now pissed off Alan. "Oh ah...Alan I...um." Lloyd started laughing a bit. "I thought you where a ghost."
Alan gritted his teeth before lashing out. "How the hell do I look like a ghost!? Ghosts aren't even real!" He grumbled while rubbing the spot on his head where the thick book had hit him. "Damn it Lloyd. That hurt." He picked up the sheets then and put them over his head once more. His shouted clearly not helping his hangover.

Caitlyn Wallacenoble of little rank Caitlyn awoke the next morning in her room with the book she had been reading the night before sprawled in her lap and her back propped up against the headboard of the bed. She yawned and shuffled herself out of bed setting her book back in her bag and starting her morning routine. She handn't heard much from the men she knew were in the room next door and actually too the time she had for herself. She had a feeling that they had drunk too much the night before and Caitlyn decided that allowing them to sleep provided her with one of her rare moments to actually rebuild the mental shields that she felt had grown so weak. When it was an hour before noon she decided that it was time that they got moving into action, more for the fact that she was getting antsy to get things done and move on, still feeling to close to home for them to be easily found. The nobles would start sending runners with photos of Lloyd today when they realized he was "Smarter" than they gave him credit for. His picture would be far to easily recognized.
She walked down the short distance to the boys room, as immature that thought sounded in her head, and knocked on the door. "Guy's it's almost noon!" She spoke loud enough for them to hear but hopefully not to disturb the other residents in the Inn. "Hangover tolerance has been spent. We need to get moving!" She added and waited for one of them to open the door. She folded her arms before in unease as she was unsure what she was going to find on the other side of the door.

Lloyd Scott Middleton/ Alan Pratt Drayton
High ranking Noble / Thief
Lloyd had his laugh at Alan and found it all too amusing. Lloyd had awoken with many hangovers in his life to know all too well how Alan was feeling. Still, he couldn't believe how much the man had. Lloyd had showered and dressed in the morning and they had breakfast brought up to their room, though it was more of a brunch. Lloyd heard Caitlyn and smiled as he went to the door to open it. "Good morning, Kitten. Though we may want to be a little careful with Alan, his head still hurts." Lloyd looked over to Alan.
Alan was sitting on the chair by the small table. He was leaning forward, his head resting on his hands, covering his eyes yet. The light didn't bother him nearly as bad as it had earlier. However, his head still hurt. If anything it was due to Lloyd not shutting up most of the morning and talking about how he couldn't wait for them to find the underground path. Alan rubbed his temples before getting up. He had already made sure they were packed and ready to move, though that had taken most of the morning due to his hangover. That, and Alan throwing a few things at Lloyd to try to get him to shut up. Alan had actually thrown one of the oil based lamps and that had shattered by the bed. He made his way to the two. "Let's just get going." He mumbled as he headed out down the stairs.
A few hours later, they were in the middle of the woods near Oakland. The shade of the trees and the branches blocking out most of the sun, greatly helped Alan. By this point his headache was nearly gone and his eyes adjusted better without the bright sunlight. He was searching through the brush trying to find something that was concrete. "The entrance probably has been over taken by the plants." He frowned.
Lloyd searched around trying to find whatever it was he was trying to find. He stumbled, falling down. "Ow," He mumbled as he then noticed there was concrete with some kind of language he did not know. "Hey! I think I found something." Lloyd cleared the brush away.
Alan starred at Lloyd for a moment. It would seem that Lloyd had a lot of dumb luck. Alan walked over and looked at the concrete. He read it and grinned. "This is it. Here." Alan then spoke in Dwarven. "Thal yan brisgont." With that phrase the ground near them started to shake and open up a pathway leading down to the underground. "No turning back now." Alan smirked due to excitement. He was prepared though for anything to happen. He knew that the house of Drayton had been destroyed due to monsters and other beings. He was more worried about the monsters than anything else. Humans wouldn't have stayed to live underground, monsters would. "Be on the lookout for anything."
Alan headed down first, though cautiously. It was dark, and thus he lit up a torch. After about an hour or two underground, something attacked Alan, pinning him to the ground. He had dropped the torch and was struggling to break free. It was a large demon spider.
"Alan!" Lloyd shouted as he unsheathed his sword and charged at the spider. Lloyd slashed at the monster and managed to kill that one fairly easy. However, there were more, five more to be exact. "Shit." Lloyd gritted his teeth as he charged at another one. Alan managed to get to his feet, but he was favoring a leg. Alan took his blades out and slashed at the spider that came his way fending that one off. Honestly if it weren't for Lloyd, they'd have probably died. Lloyd may not have been an actual adventurer, but he did spar with the knights/guards and even fought against some minor monsters in training. For Lloyd, this just brought back the time of training with the monsters. Perhaps he still thought of it as a game since he didn't believe he'd really get hurt. Let alone, he had always had back up to make sure he wouldn't get hurt. He believed his friends would help keep each other safe and everything was going to go their way. "I think...that's all of them." Lloyd was panting as he looked at Alan and Caitlyn. "The two of you okay?"

Caitlyn Wallacenoble of little rank The men for the most part were ready to go at this point she realized when Lloyd answered the door. It seemed Alan was in as cranky a mood today, no surprise there, and Lloyd was his unusually happy self. She did note that they were more so that what she deemed normal in their respective moods but she wasn't going to push it. She didn't have to comment on the situation, she knew and decided that she wouldn't. Especially as Alan seemed to rush them out the door. He led them to their destination, a forested area where they started searching for the entrance to the Cave that Alan knew existed in the immediate area. She was not surprised when Lloyd stumbled onto it. Caitlyn Immediately became uneasy when she realized that the path they were really going to take was underground. She knew immediately that she was not going to be of much use.
Her unease grew as they traveled deeper and deeper into the cave systems. Her fears confirmed when Alan was pinned by a creature in the darkness. Caitlyn froze where she was, effectively shoved out of the way and behind Lloyd a few moments as Lloyd rushed into action. Her heart raced as she tried to think of something she could do to help though her thoughts were filled with panic. Panic which she could tell Hubert sense and urged her to summon him, though there was no room to house him. She stumbled back and fell over a large rock and an idea formed in her head. It was small enough for her to lift and she chucked it at the monsters that now started to swarm towards Lloyd. It landed knocking two on their backs and allowing Lloyd to dispatch them quickly. She watched as Lloyd took care of the other three and hurried to Alan's side.
"Are you alright?" She asked seeing him getting back on his feet. She was not surprised to hear Lloyd ask the same question, in a time frame that seemed like an odd echo. Caitlyn turned to Lloyd and nodded, looking at her feet. She did not like the bitter taste in her mouth in regards to the fact that she was only able to help so much. "I'm fine." she responded careful not to let her frustration show. "Though, I am not sure about Alan." she added.

Lloyd Scott Middleton/ Alan Pratt Drayton
High ranking Noble / Thief
Alan was still catching his breathe and trying to figure out what had all just happened. He was catering to his right leg, not putting much weight on it. He saw a large boulder near him and slowly, and limping, though he stopped when he realized it seemed a bit further away than he first thought. He was angry now though. He was careless and now he was injured. At least Lloyd already proved himself to be quite the warrior. He was worried for a nobleman that he'd be nothing but trouble.
Lloyd was glad to hear that Caitlyn was fine. Though it seemed Alan was not. He walked over to Alan and tried to get Alan to put his arm around his shoulder so Lloyd could help him walk, but it seemed Alan wasn't going to have it. "Alan, just let me help you walk."
"I'll be all right. I just ...need a minute." Alan clearly did have a hard time relying on anyone. He also didn't do so well when he needed to ask someone for help. Alan sighed as he just thought a moment. "Fine..." He mumbled as Lloyd helped him over to the boulder to sit down. "By the way, Lloyd, I had no idea you could fight like that." Alan had been planning on pulling most of the weight when it came to any and all fights. Though, Alan wasn't good when it came to being ambushed. Everyone had their weaknesses. He wondered now though, about Caitlyn. Apparently from the rumors in town she was a summoning mage. If that was the case why in the hell did she not summon any beings? Not that he personally would enjoy seeing any magic, but it still would have helped. Maybe the rumors where just that, rumors.
Lloyd took some pride in when Alan mentioned he did good with the fighting. He was glad he was able to protect his friends. Lloyd walked over to Caitlyn with a frown. "He can't go on like that. We can't go on like that. You don't know any magic summons or anything that would heal do you?" Lloyd asked with a slight grin. He was actually anxious to see some of her skills. That, and he was hoping they weren't going to have to go back to Oakland already and just wait to recover. Since this was a Dwarven place, even Lloyd knew they needed someone who spoke the language. Clearly if they hadn't had Alan there was no way they'd be underground already. They'd be maybe in the cave pondering what it was the signs said.
Alan rolled up his pant leg and started to inspect the damage. His leg was scrapped up and swollen up near the ankle. There was no way he was going to end this little journey so swiftly. He would just have to swallow the pain and push through it. He'd been injured before, but sadly never this bad on any leg. "We continue. I'll be all right. Besides, the longer we stay here the higher chance of more spider friends come find us. I have no intention on wanting to fight more." Alan slowly pushed himself so he was standing, though once more, kept the weight off his right leg.

Caitlyn Wallacenoble of little rank Alan, he was not okay, Caitlyn was quick to realize and Lloyd was already at his side trying to help him to a boulder to sit down and Caitlyn watched, her blood running cold. Alan was pissed, Lloyd was Lloyd, and Caitlyn was running through her now five contracts, wondering which if any might be able to help. She bit her lower lip, Maybe Brittlefoot, she thought, thinking of her brownie contract, he couldn't heal, but he might be willing to bring them some bandages and materials to help Alan with his immediate injury. Between Brittlefoot an the water being she had contracted she could likely help stave off infection till they reached the town. The water creature's magic stirred and it liked the idea of Caitlyn considering it to help with the situation.
All her thoughts happened in the time it took for Alan and Lloyd to converse, finally Lloyd turned to Caitlyn and asked the question that she was dreading. She bit her lip and looked down guiltily. "I lived in the village, most my contracts are...." she froze mid sentences when she felt her lungs constrict and her magic swell within her. Hubert was frustrated, but Caitlyn knew it wasn't him or the other summons whom's hum against her skin she was most familiar with. She brought her hand to her chest and listened to what the water creature was trying to tell her. One word and phrase repetitively cycling in her brain. Undine. Waiting. Caitlyn furrowed her eyebrows unsure what to say or think her sentence dying on her lips and forgetten considering the creature talking to her. She instead busied herself and walked over to Alan to look at his foot. When he moved quickly to his feet saying that they needed to get moving or run the risk of meeting new spiders.
"To my knowledge, no, I do not have a contract that heals," She spoke wondering though about the agitated water sprite and what she might be able to do. "I don't really have any fighters either, and the one that would fight.... well he's a little too big to fit in these caverns..." She muttered. "But maybe, before we go... I think we should treat your leg, at least rinse out the all dirt and debris." She spoke, though she wasn't going to press the matter. She agreed with Alan and their need to move, she was going to follow him when she was stopped by the magic's sting again. Undine.
This time the creature's words made her head hurt and Caitlyn brought her hand to her head. She knew at this point she should listen to the creature. She sighed and looked at Alan. "Can you sit down again, I don't know about healing, but we should at least treat the injury the best we can." She muttered. She didn't really give Alan much of a choice in the matter and leaned forward using her weight to guide him back to the boulder. The water creature kept repeating that one word and Caitlyn knew it was the Que she was given to summon the creature. Caitlyn glanced at Lloyd.
"Before I even try anything, I don't want to hear anything about what I am about to do," She muttered more for Lloyd, but for Alan's sake as well. She did not want to spend the next few hours hearing Lloyd carry on about her magic, or Alan complaining about it. She sighed, took a deep breath and followed the water creature's command. "Undine," She whispered and felt her magic surge. She blinked. Caitlyn had been expecting her, but even still she was surprised to see the water being magically appear between them. Undine with less than solid hands, reached and grabbed Alan's foot, chirped and chimed a bit, and disappeared. Caitlyn stared wide eyed at the fact that his leg, showed no evidence of injury when Undine had vanished.
"I guess I was wrong... she's new... so I didn't know..."Caitlyn muttered, feeling tired again after using that magic.
