High ranking Noble / Thief
Lloyd frowned when Caitlyn mentioned that she did not have any healing contacts. He was bit confused with her actions though. It seemed something was bothering her, but she wasn't saying. Lloyd looked over at Alan who was on his feet. "Hey! Take it easy, Alan. You shouldn't be putting weight on your leg." He protested and sighed seeing he was going to be stubborn. He wasn't sure what he could do to change things. Sure he could just carry Alan, but he doubted Alan would approve. Lloyd watched Caitlyn and tilted his head when she mentioned that she didn't want to hear anything about what she was going to do. Was she going to summon a spirit!? Lloyd couldn't help but grin a bit as he watched waiting to see something, anything!
Alan was about to protest sitting back down, but before he knew it, he was. Damn her...who does she think she is pushing me around like that!? Then, Caitlyn said it. Said enough to make Alan realize she was about to use magic. A knot in his stomach formed a bit, not sure what he should be thinking about this. He personally did not like magic, but if it helped his leg, then...maybe it'd be all right. Just this one time. "Undine?" Alan found himself repeating the name trying to figure out where he had heard it before. It sounded familiar, but he just couldn't put his finger on it. Perhaps it was something his grandfather had taught him years ago.
Alan looked down and then there she was. A water spirit, tending to his leg. A happy little thing she was. He watched her wide eyed and speechless. His leg, especially his ankle was feeling a lot better. The pain slowly dying down and the cuts he had on his leg where gone. Without a word, not caring about what Caitlyn just said about her being new, he stood up. He put weight on the foot and there was no pain. Fully healed. "Ah...hey, thanks." Alan looked at Caitlyn. Thankfully, though it was an odd moment for Alan, it was short lived when Lloyd came over to them.
Lloyd had watched in amazement. A large, goofy grin upon his face. "Caitlyn that was awesome!" It seemed her warning of not saying anything didn't sink into Lloyd's head. He ran over to Caitlyn and inspected her, hoping to see Undine again, but she was gone. "Aw, man I can't believe she's gone already! Hey do you think next time I could meet with one of your summons? Oh man, I mean think of it, I would love to hold a conversation with one!" Lloyd went on about how amazing Caitlyn's ability was. It took him a few minutes to realize she seemed tired. "Huh oh...hey you all right? Maybe we can find a place to rest for awhile." He looked over at Alan.
Alan nodded. "Yea, that's fine." A few more hours passed and they found themselves at the ruins they were looking for. It still would take them time to find the right house that held the treasures so it was a perfect place to rest. "Sorry it took so long to find a place, but this is as good as any. Look there's a house over there that isn't too badly damaged. We can rest there." He led the way into the house and inspected it, making sure no danger was there. In a room on the second floor, Alan found a staff. He gritted his teeth as he stared at it. It had to be a remain from when some of the mages attacked. Dwarves couldn't use magic, that was a given. Though half bloods could.
Alan sighed and reached out to pick up the staff. He had an idea for Caitlyn, not sure if it would work, but he didn't see why he shouldn't suggest it. He walked back down and held the staff out for Caitlyn. "You are a mage. A summoner mage, but a mage. Have you ever tried using a staff? Your summons are a part of you. You make a contact with them and they help you. I see the way that summoning a spirit takes a lot out of you. What if you where to ask them to extend their power through the staff so you just use their power instead of summoning. I doubt the power will be as strong, but it is something to try." Alan felt odd trying to help a mage like this. Still, it would be to his benefit if she could help them out in combat.
Lloyd was looking through their pack trying to figure out what they could eat. He overheard Alan explain the staff idea to Caitlyn. "Wow, is that even possible?" He walked over to them as he starred at Caitlyn waiting for her to try it out. He guessed it may have made sense but then he started to wonder if all mages where like that. Could any mage make a contract? Maybe he would be able to make a contract one day too and be able to use magic like that. What Lloyd did not know was that you where either born with the ability to use magic or you where not. Most magic users found out they could use magic when they were a child or a teenager. Lloyd was already passed that.

Caitlyn Wallace noble of little rank Alan thanked her and that was something she did not expect, especially when he was so obviously not happy that she healed him. Lloyd was on her like a hawk and she sighed, it wouldn't be so simple for him not to have said anything she realized and she gave an awkward smile as he went on about meeting her summons. He really didn't care about the fact that she was a magic user and that was something she had issues comprehending. Then he focus on the fact that she was tired and she sighed. "I'll be alright" she responded though it seemed her words fell on deaf ears. It seemed that the boys had their own desire to rest as well and she wasn't going to fight it.
They found camp a few hours later and by that point Caitlyn was exhausted but she tried not to let it show. She didn't want to be the weak link in the situation. She already couldn't fight, she didn't need to slow them down. They set up a quick camp and she didn't say anything when Alan left the immediate proximity, he obviously had something on his mind. He came back later with a staff and explained away that Caitlyn might be able to use it to fight. Her eyes grew wide in surprise with the realization that he had a point and it was something very plausible.
"Wow..." she muttered and looked at the staff and took if from his hands. "It... this would..." She was s speechless... she didn't know what to say. Caitlyn did not really consider the fact of a staff before. Her magic always running a different path than the mages at home had always used. That and while she reasearched as much as she could, which due to her family interference was in reality very little, she did not know much about her magic at all. Most of what she knew was self taught, or explained to her by Hubert. Alan though it was plain to her was not fond of magic, though provided her valuable information, and a method that she had never thought existed for her to be able to help them. It was a major relief, if his theory worked.
"Thank you..." she muttered and left it at that her words not able to truely convey her thoughts. Caitlyn was torn, for the first time since Milly, she used her powers and while there were mixed reactions neither Lloyd nor Alan ran from her. In fact, Lloyd had no issues, and Alan while not happy extended an olive branch of his own... for what ever reasons. Her warning to herself that they were both dangerous echoed through her mind again and she looked at the staff in her hands calmly. I cannot trust them... she reminded herself.

"Yea..." Alan wasn't sure what to say himself. Giving gifts to people wasn't exactly something he did all that often. He rubbed the back of his neck as he figured out what he should do next. He was looking at Lloyd who seemed rather eager and fixated on waiting to see if Caitlyn would try out his idea or not. He walked over to one of their packs, the one Lloyd had already started to pull food out of. Was he about to try to cook? Alan frowned as he looked over at Lloyd. "Lloyd, do you even know how to cook?" He couldn't help but ask. He figured he wouldn't since he was a noble and to imagine him try to cook, just was not a good idea.
Lloyd perked up a little and looked over at Alan. "Hm? Ah...well I know how to make a sandwich. Other than that, no. I'd be willing to try though." Lloyd grinned as he walked over to Alan finally giving up that he wasn't going to see Caitlyn try her staff out right away. Though Alan annoyed, he showed Lloyd how to make a stew. Lloyd, being himself, was trying to add more things than what was needed. Especially the spices.
About half an hour later, the stew was finished. "Meals ready, Caitlyn." Lloyd, rather proud of himself, grinned as he poured three bowls and offered one up towards Caitlyn. As soon as she grabbed a bowl, Lloyd started eating his own bowl. "Wow, this is pretty good. Though how would it have tasted with more of that stuff I wanted to add?"
Alan couldn't help but shift a glare towards Lloyd. "It would have tasted like vomit." Okay, so it wouldn't have exactly tasted like that, but Alan was sure he and Caitlyn would have thrown up from it. Lloyd had wanted to add the entire container of spices in the small stew. "Let's just eat." Alan ate his meal and then got up once more. He grabbed a torch and headed over to the next room. He had found a tablet earlier that he recognized as Drayton. It was all in Dwarven and he wanted to read it.
Though it may seem that Alan wasn't close to his family, he had been at one time. Learning the Dwarven language and wanting to know what happened to his families history, was a part of who Alan was. As a child his grandfather and father often spoke Dwarven all day so he would learn to understand it.

Caitlyn Wallace noble of little rank
She debated in her head, what she should try. Fire magic... water... they all seemed dangerous in this little cavern, the thought itself unnerving she also had to contend with the fact that Lloyd was hovering over her shoulder. Anticipating what choice she would make. Caitlyn couldn't focus, not with the thousands of thoughts and ideas running through her head and the realization that she had been using more magic than she had been used to in the last few days. It was with that knoweldge and the realization that she should probably rest for a while before trying that she wasn't going to test the staff at first. She could consult Hubert though, and gather his opinion on the matter, the worried hum she still felt against her skin from him told her that they were due for a chat. Caitlyn was trapped in her head for the duration of the time that Lloyd and Alan were cooking. Hubert, she was surprised actually agreed with Alan, with the matter of the staff, and recommended that she ask for him to lend his power when she tested, knowing what was going to happen, he could help control the magic that he sent her way. Caitlyn agreed and was pulled from her thoughts when Lloyd called for her to eat and brought her a bowl. Hubert, surprised her again, claiming that at the moment it was wiser for her to stay with the two men, while he wasn't fond of the idea, (so she could sense), he felt that she was safer with them for the time being. Caitlyn reluctantly agreed. Lloyd handed her a bowl, and Caitlyn took it still in her thoughts and barely remembered to mutter " thank you,". She ate, listening to Alan and Lloyd banter. Recognizing that she was going to have to keep an eye on Lloyd when Alan wasn't watching him cook. She did not want to taste a spice laden food, once or twice, as was likely with Lloyd's interpretation of food. He was definitely the type that thought the more the merrier... " Guys... how long are we staying here?" she muttered... after they had finished talking. She was feeling a little better with the food in her stomach and was willing to try the staff if she needed to, but that only matter if they felt the need to move on immediately.

Alan looked over at Caitlyn when she asked when they were going to get moving again. "Just as soon as we all feel good enough to move again. I found a bit more information on which building we need to look in." Alan stood up and stretched as he walked over to Caitlyn and Lloyd. The sooner they got going, the sooner they can find what they were looking for, and the sooner they would get out of these ruins. Not that Alan didn't mind treasure hunting, he just hated being in a place that he knew little about. Of course he preferred to stick to shadows when doing any of his stealing, hell even for fighting.
Lloyd looked over at Alan and nodded his head. "I'm ready to move on again. Knowing we are so close to the fragment only has me more pumped to keep going." He grinned as he choose to start packing away the things they had taken out to make a meal.
Alan nodded as he saw that Caitlyn seemed to be ready too. "Good. Oh, Lloyd, if we come across any armor for you, I suggest you take it. You're our 'warrior' so to speak." That and having a helmet on your damn head might help with people not knowing who you are. "I know there won't be many Dwarven based armor here for you, but maybe we can come across something."
After a few minutes they were ready to head out again. The three made their way further into the ruins. It was clear the area they had rested in was more of the slum area for this town. For Dwarves, either you were high up enough to have your own House, or you lived in the slums, begging for food and work. Thing of it was though humans may refer to those with the Houses as nobles, that was not the case. Those with a House meant they were strong and often sent the men and even the strong, fierce women at times, out to hunt the monsters that dwelled underground. In many cases, it was the Dwarves that kept many of the monsters from overtaking above ground.
The Drayton House wasn't the strongest in this town. Though they were up there in rank. The stories that Alan's grandfather spoke of mentioned that the Drayton's where never afraid of a challenge and where always more than willing to show their strength.
"This is it!" Alan grinned as he opened the rusty door that lead inside a house. "The Drayton House. The treasure is in a hidden room so be on the lookout." Alan went on in starting to search for things. Alan stopped when he found some armor. "Hey, Lloyd, try these on." He handed the heavy weight armor to Lloyd.
Lloyd tried on the armor, it was a bit snug but wasn't bad. However, it felt odd to him. He had rarely worn armor let along heavy plated armor. He moved around a bit getting a feel. "It's going to slow me down some, but I think I can work with it." Lloyd grinned. He had an open face helmet on, body armor, and arm armor. He stumbled a bit as he was getting a feel moving around and by doing so, he ran into a book case that seemed to flip, allowing Lloyd to tumble all the way down.
Alan stared, blinking a few times. Lloyd surely had plenty of the dumb luck. He walked over to the bookcase that had closed after Lloyd fell. Alan pushed on it and it opened once more. "Guess we should see if he's all right." He smirked a little as he started to carefully make his way down the steep hill.
"Uh...guys, we kind of have an issue." Lloyd shouted as he already had his sword drawn. A large Golem came rushing towards Lloyd who barely managed to avoid the Golem. "There's this rock thing creature and I think he's mad!"
"Rock thing...shit. A Golem is still functioning? Damn it..." Alan hurried on further down. Though instead of helping Lloyd fight off the Golem, Alan was looking for something instead. Golems could be controlled by a control rod. Without the control rod, they would have to just try to fight the Golem and win. That was unlikely since blades did little damage to Golems. Nor did fire work the best on rocks. Though could rocks melt? He had no idea and no time to try out the theory. If he could get his hands on that control rod, he'd also have his own personal protector. That was a nice thought.

Caitlyn Wallace noble of little rank
They moved on, No one it seemed wanted to spend more time underground than what they already were and Caitlyn was relieved to put off attempting to use the staff till she could find a moment to be alone. Away from Lloyd and Alan's eyes in case she failed. She didn't need the pressure or guilt that she would feel if they watched her fail. She nodded when Alan and Lloyd made their comments about being ready to go. The staff already feeling like it belonged with her, she took what she realized had already become a familiar weight and followed the lead the two men set. They moved on and Caitlyn made sure to have looked around the areas that they moved through. She realized that there was a lot she didn't know about Dwarven communities, much that she was seeing now due with the journey through the caverns. Much was destroyed, by the fights between the dwarves and their enemies, the humans and monsters that had driven them from their homes... but she saw a lot more as well. The dwarves are believed to be one of the great races, but she could tell from the buildings and construction that they too had their issues within their lives. They had rested in what Caitlyn had realized was the poorer parts of their civilization and Alan guided them through the area to a much nicer place, some of the buildings had even survived the fighting in this new area. Alan found the buildings they were looking for. He guided them in, and started looking through for the armor for Lloyd. Somehow, he found armor that somehow managed to fit him, which was a feat into itself considering they were in a rich Dwarven home... and somehow the armor managed to fit Lloyd in his six foot (plus?) glory. While Caitlyn did not like the idea of taking things that had belonged to others, but she could see that Alan was right that the armor would help hide his identity. His skull was thick enough, she didn't know what more of a purpose it could hold beyond his id... Lloyd, suited up, Caitlyn looked up at him surprised to admit to herself that Lloyd was an intimidating sight to behold. The image was shut away quickly when like the giant goofball he was, he stumbled and found the entrance to the hidden chamber. Alan checked it out before she had the chance and followed Lloyd. Caitlyn was the last to follow and too busy trying not to tumble after them, that she barely registered what Lloyd said before Alan rushed off to look for something. " What do I need to do? What are you looking for?" She called out. Panic did not seize her near as much as it did the first time with spiders... But she also knew that it wasn't the most opportune time to attempt to use the staff. Not only was she unsure if it would work, but she had also read at some point that Golems were immune to most forms of magic besides the ones that held them together. She figure her time and efforts would be better used in helping Alan find what he was looking for.

Alan looked over at Caitlyn when she asked him what he was looking for. He moved his gaze back to what was in front of him and kept looking through the rubble. "Control rod. It's used to control the golems. It's nothing too large but...well when you see it, you'll know." Alan replied as he kept searching. A large boulder was thrown at Alan, and he barely ducked when Lloyd shouted look out. The boulder hit the wall, shattering into pieces. Pieces of the boulder landed in Alan's hair, but he paid little attention. He was all right and he was able to keep searching. If they didn't find the rod soon, they would have to try to fight the golem.
Lloyd was doing his best trying to keep the golem's attention. Though, even he had to admit, it was tiring work. It was a little nerve wrecking knowing that this thing could easily snap apart his bones. He also was finding out the armor was proving to be quite useful. A lot of the boulders that where thrown, at least the smaller ones, he was able to take. Though it left him breathless afterwards for a moment. "Whatever it you guys are doing, I suggest hurrying it up!" Lloyd shouted and it was clear he was out of breath. He couldn't keep this up for much longer. He wasn't making any headway on the beast.
Alan moved and kept looking around. Something caught his eye and he went to a spot on the wall. The wall was caved in just a bit, enough for him to move some stones around. There it was. Alan quickly grabbed the control rod and shouted out in Dwarven, "Golem, Qularernth." The golem seemed to stop in his tracks, putting down the boulder it had in his arms. The golem turned and looked at Alan, awaiting for the next command.
Alan gave a deep sigh of relief. Though, other thoughts where now running through his head. It seemed he would now have his own personal golem. Oh just the thought of having a golem was bliss. If he ever got into any trouble all he'd have to do was tell the Golem to attack. "Well, that takes care of that problem. You holding up all right, Lloyd?"
Lloyd nodded his head as he was catching his breath. "I'm fine. Little sooner though would have been a bit nicer." He grinned a bit with a soft chuckle. "I sure, do hope, that we don't run into any more problems along the way." He sheathed his sword. "So, a golem is added into our little adventure group, huh?" Lloyd seemed to forget that just moments ago the golem had been trying to squish his head. He walked over to the golem and started to inspect it. "Well, glad to have you aboard." He offered his hand to the golem, and the golem just starred blankly.
Alan watched Lloyd and couldn't help but to shake his head. He couldn't believe there was someone like Lloyd out there in the world. It was as if Lloyd could always find a reason to be ...carefree. It kind of pissed Alan off. "His name is Gol, says so on the rod. And if he does speak, it'd be in Dwarven. I doubt any golem out there understands the human tongue." Alan walked up to Gol. "Gol, Tren aol lonte gramoent?" Alan asked Gol if he knew of a room with hidden treasures. "Crysal fraent." Crystal fragment. Gol nodded his head and started to lead the way. "Looks like he may know where the crystal is." Alan grinned as he hurried up and followed the golem.
Lloyd was a bit disheartened when he heard he couldn't communicate with the golem. Maybe he'd have to try to learn Dwarven. Then he heard Alan speak it. Okay, maybe he wasn't going to learn it. "How awesome is this." He looked over at Caitlyn. "We have a strong golem on our side! And a smart one too. Knows what we are looking for." Lloyd grinned from ear to ear.
Gol took them into a small chamber. Alan went ahead and hanging on a statue, was the Earth crystal. Alan grinned as he snatched the necklace off the statue and put it around his own neck. "Well we got the Earth crystal. I say we get out of here and head back to town. Figure out what to do next." He grinned.
((So I don't forget, if you want to take them back to town on your next post feel free to do so ))

Caitlyn Wallacenoble of little rank Events happened so quickly. Lloyd was dodging boulders, Alan was searching for his control rod, and Caitlyn scurried trying to be of assistance where she could be. Alan found the rod rather quickly considering all the treasures in the room to sort through and Caitlyn watched relieved when he yelled out in Dwarven and the Golem stopped moving. Caitlyn let out a sigh and plopped to the ground once again frustrated she hadn't been much help and at the same time relieved that everything was okay.
Alan and Lloyd started talking about Gol as Alan claimed he was named and Lloyd welcomed gol to the group and Caitlyn frowned... Was she the onlyone who thought that Alan having a personal Golem was a bad idea. But she didn't voice her opinion. She could tell a losing battle when she saw one and so long as Gol didn't follow them in town she figured there would be no harm done. Most people would not take kindly to a magically animated beings... she figured less so than what they took to the magical users that animated them.
Alan talked to Gol and asked where the crystal fragment was and Caitlyn let out a sigh of relief when he said that the Golem claimed to have knowledge where to go. Even she was not stupid to see that this particular situation benefited them greatly. She followed behing the group as they went to the chamber that housed the Fragment and she stared surprised until Alan snatched it up and placed the necklace around his neck. She bit her lip, she didn't like the idea of Alan holding the fragement but she was not going to stir the pot with trouble at this point. No, if she planned on getting it away into more trustworthy hands she would focus on it when they came back to the inn and maybe the men went out to get drunk. It seemed Alan might be in a more reasonable mind frame then, and they could all agree on a safe place to hold the fragment.
"Maybe we should head back," she muttered not failing to notice that her interruption would help keep some sanity between them. Lloyd was trying really hard to talk to Gol even though Gol didn't talk back. Caitlyn did everything she could to not comment on him no t having a brain... It might cause a huge fuss if Alan made a remark about asking which one... Caitlyn could tell, even then that Alan did not have much faith in Lloyd's mental intelligence. Sometimes she wondered how much Lloyd thought herself... but she was not one to make jabs at someone who didn't necessarily need it. after just fighting off gol, she felt some credit was due.
Both men agree and Alan had Gol guide them from the caverns. They arrived back to the town with little incident. Something that Caitlyn found to be a great relief, she excused herself from the men, reluctantly agreeing to go out for celebratory drinks, and locking herself up in her room till she couldn't avoid them much longer.
Staff in hand she took the opportunity to practice channeling the summon's magic. She was surprised when Hubert with more patience then she had ever known him to have guide her through the process of lighting the staff and illuminating her room with a warm glow. She grinned to herself. It was a start, but she didn't doubt with practice that things would work out for the better. Hubert promised with time, that she would be able to harness more, like pulling water in times of need, or hurling fireballs when needed. He wanted her to wait till they were in a field and he could be there in person before trying to practice with something so dangerous. Caitlyn wasn't fond of the idea but she didn't complain. The centuries old dragon had more knowledge than she would argue with.
Seeing she had more time before they agreed to meet up for drinks she grabbed her coat and decided to look around the town. It was as good a time as any for her to wander and start scoping out possible groups that might take her in later if she crossed their paths again. Or that was what she planned as she walked out of her room and headed towards the nearest exit.

Lloyd Scott Middleton/ Alan Pratt Drayton
High ranking Noble / Thief
Most of the trip back to Oakland, Lloyd was trying to make small chat with Gol. His carefree, upbeat personality only annoying Alan. Gol never did say a word back to Lloyd minus his own name, Gol. Though, that didn't stop Lloyd nor damper his spirits. He was a bit sadden though to hear that Gol was going to be forced to stay in the woods nearby Oakland. Lloyd tried to protest saying that Gol was part of their group and how he had helped them get the fragment and get them out of the underground cavern. He didn't win.
Lloyd separated from the group shortly after arriving and making arrangements at the inn. He told them to meet him up at the local tavern later for a few rounds of drinks. In the mean time, Lloyd was already going to be there. He could share people at the tavern their little adventure so far and it would honestly be the truth this time! Though, he wondered who he should fancy as their leader. Caitlyn wouldn't be a bad idea, he could flare up her abilities a bit saying she's this awesome mage. Though, he honestly did believe she was an awesome mage. Then there was Alan, he was just as important as Caitlyn. Alan held the knowledge to get them to the cavern and saved them by knowing dwarven. Maybe he could tell one story here with one of them as the leader and the next town he does the other. That might not be a bad idea. Could test out each and see which gets the crowd riled up more.
Lloyd walked in the tavern and took a seat at a rather long table. Ordering up drinks for any and all who sat with him. He had made sure to carry quite the pouch with him of coin. He didn't want to run out while on their adventure. Still, he didn't realize that at some point, if he kept up his habits he would run them dry with coin and they'd really be struggling. He truly had no idea what the concept of coin was. At first, as he started to tell the story about their group heading towards the forest, a few people sat down. And then more once they realized he was paying for drinks. This story, Lloyd made Caitlyn, a mage, the leader. He was curious to see what people would think of a mage leader. He made sure to make her seem nice, beautiful, and powerful. Perhaps not the best idea to flourish a mage like that.
Once back, Alan decided he would nap a bit. Not that he didn't like the idea of sharing drinks with Lloyd, it's just he needed time to think. The next move was not a move he was so easily, willing to make. All of his old feelings that he had ran away and thought he'd never have to face again, he might be. In his room in the inn, he grabbed a flask out. Strong dwarven scotch. He brought the flask to his lips and took a rather large drink of it. Going back to Humbolt, scared the living shit out of him, but he also knew that his grandfather was probably the only one that could help them find more fragments. Sure, he could pawn off the one he had now, but Alan was a bit greedy. He wanted the others. Hell if the stories where true maybe he could make himself a King one day.
Alan ran a hand through his hair thinking. Time passed, he didn't really sleep, but he was working his way to making sure he'd be able to go to Humbolt. He was a bit more willing as long as he only saw his grandfather. He could live with that. It was close to night fall, before Alan decided to go meet up with Lloyd.
Alan walked into the tavern and he could only assume the spot where people where gathering was where Lloyd was. Alan raised a brow when he heard something about Gol. He wasn't. Alan walked closer and sure enough, Lloyd was. Caitlyn apparently was using ice to slow down the might golem. Lloyd was distracting the stone beast, while Alan was working on finding the control rod. "Flattery will get you now where, Lloyd. Besides, Caitlyn ain't gonna like hearing you share our little adventure like this. She might use her 'ice powers' and freeze your tongue so you don't spit stories anymore." Alan might have come off a bit harsher than normal, but that could be blamed on the scotch he was already drinking. That, and he really didn't want people to know they were on the hunt for the fragments.
Lloyd frowned. "Aww, come on, Alan. Broken hearted I'm not flattering you more? I can change that." Lloyd grinned. "Just having a little fun sharing our adventure. I can't leave them hanging now can I?" Lloyd saw the look Alan was giving and perhaps he was right. Caitlyn probably wouldn't like the idea he was trying to flourish her. Let alone people in the tavern where already talking about Caitlyn. A mage being a leader for a group. How unlikely that was! Who idiots would allow a mage to lead them. Surely, Lloyd was just off his rocker, drunk too perhaps. They weren't believing him, but free drinks, well people don't pass that up.
Alan rubbed the back of his neck. "Come on guys. Let's leave the drunken idiot alone. His stories clearly are full or rubbish." Alan was able to disburse the crowd though Lloyd wasn't too pleased. Alan sat down next to him. "You can't be doing this anymore, Lloyd. Our adventure needs to be that, our adventure. People aren't like what you think they are. They will try to take what we have found for themselves. People are out for themselves in the real world, got that? You need to worry about you, Caitlyn, and me. That's it. Don't waste your damn coin on them." Alan sighed as he shook his head. "Hey, toots," he called to a waitress. "Get me a vodka, or something strong. Anything really."
Lloyd sighed as he shrugged. Maybe Alan was right, but he didn't want to believe that. "I'll try. No promises though. So, tonight we feast, we drink! Celebrate the first one down. And to our new friend Gol, but..." Lloyd thought about Gol again. He should be with them. "He shouldn't be out in the cold like this."
"He's a golem. Made out of rock and other hard materials. He's fine." Alan looked up the waitress brought his drink to him. "Thank you." He took a rather large drink of it. "Look, Gol's fine. Honestly. If he wasn't I wouldn't have left him out there. Besides, I have him scouting for any guards from the capital. If he sees them he will let us know. It'd be a shame if our journey had to finish so soon, no?"

Caitlyn Wallacenoble of little rank Caitlyn arrived later than the other two she realized when she noticed that Alan and Lloyd were already pretty intoxicated. Caitlyn felt an uneasy prickling sensation on her skin, when she had first walked in. It took her only a few minutes to figure out why... many of the other patrons were stealing glances in her direction, or in several cases down right staring. She sighed, she didn't need to guess why... she just needed to know weather or not she should ask... sometimes ignorance is bliss she reminded herself. She reluctantly sat herself down next to Lloyd and Alan and decided to open her mouth.
"Lloyd what did you do?" she asked uneasy with the fact that she still felt everyone's eyes on her. She talked hoping it would help rid her of the urge to flee. It didn't all she wanted to do was run faster and further away... "No... wait maybe I should drink something first... otherwise I might not receive what I have been told very well." She interuppted before Lloyd could try and explain. She waved the bartender over and asked for something that had a moderate level of alcohol, just enough to numb her from the sting of all the eyes on the group.
She sipped half the glass before she felt she was ready to listen and once again turned her gaze to the drunken men. "So what happened that now every face in this bar is looking in our direction?" She muttered.

Lloyd Scott Middleton/ Alan Pratt Drayton
High ranking Noble / Thief
Lloyd grinned from ear to ear when he saw Caitlyn enter and sit next to them. Surely she would understand! He could explain himself to her and with luck she would be able to convince Alan to allow Lloyd to continue to share his stories! He was about to answer her question when she halted him. He frowned a bit. Was she that unsure of him and what he was doing? All he could do was wait until she asked him to speak. In the mean time, he figured he could make small talk. "I'm glad you finally where able to come, Kitten. Did you do anything exciting while we all did our own thing?"
Alan had his feet up on the table, leaning back in his chair. This ought to be quite interesting. He continued to drink as he waited for Caitlyn to hear what Lloyd had to say. "That drink might not be heavy enough, Caitlyn." Was all he said as he saw the drink be brought to her. Many would have thought Alan to be pissed drunk by now, but thanks to his high tolerance, he was just buzzed, maybe a bit more than that. "I can give you a taste of a Dwarven drink. It'll numb you right up." He grinned a bit pulling out his flask, showing her.
"Aw, come on, she doesn't need to drink to hear it!" Lloyd pouted a bit, his big puppy eyes trying to plead with Alan. Perhaps trying to make Alan feel a bit of guilt for saying such things. Though, when Caitlyn finally mentioned she wanted to know, he lit up again. "I was telling stories again. About adventures. You know how I can get, right?" Lloyd clearly was trying to make it seem like it was no big deal. "Well, I decided to share our adventure from today. It was getting quite the hit! A strong, powerful leader. Beautiful mage. You know." Lloyd was leaving out quite the few details.
Alan started chuckling seeing Lloyd dance around the key points. "He's neglecting to say that this strong, powerful leader, is the beautiful mage. Made you seem like the hero." Alan was cut off by Lloyd. Though, Alan couldn't quite blame Lloyd for trying to shush him up.
"I ah...well I was trying to make it seem like mages aren't something to fear. Cause they aren't! I mean, I figured that if people saw that we aren't afraid and have a strong, kind mage as our leader, that they wouldn't think worse of you or mages. Maybe think better." Lloyd tried to explain himself. He really did have good intentions, it's just he didn't think about it not working. He didn't consider just how much people didn't like mages. Nor the fact that what happened at the capital might have made word here already.
Alan shook his head, listening to Lloyd. He really did mean well, he always meant well. He wondered though if Lloyd just might have a darker side to him than he was letting on. Nobody always wished well for everyone. Not the people he had met. Alan drank the rest of his drink. "I suggest this be our last night here in Oakland. With Lloyd spreading shit like he is, we wont be welcomed here for very long. Besides, we don't know if the capital guards might come." Alan threw out the suggestion. "I already know where we need to head to next. Small town, Humbolt." Alan sighed, becoming quite for a few moments. "When we are there, we do not site see. Strictly there for business." He pulled out his flask once more and took another drink of it.

Caitlyn Wallace </font> noble of little rank</div> "I don't want to get drunk Alan, just ease the news... I have a feeling I am not going to like it..." She responded as she sipped her drink. Her supiscions were more than proven right. She burrowed her face in her hands. "No.. no he didn't" she muttered to herself after Alan and Lloyd painted the situation for her. Alan was right what she had ordered was not enough, but it needed to be. She would not be able to drink enough to make her not care, not enough and still have a fully functioning brain. "Lloyd what were you thinking?" she muttered and listened as Lloyd tried to explain his intentions and she felt herself sinking lower in her seat. She hoped that when she did leave none of the other people of the bar would try to kill her, because many would likely think that she had Lloyd under some type of spell.
" Lloyd.... I know that your intentions were nice... but that is one of the most careless things I think you have done. You can't just change peoples opinions you are lucky that someone didn't grab you or start insulting you... People don't accept mages as Leaders... they fear us.... anyone with any sense of power... they will do what they have to to keep them in check. " She sighed... " Not to mention that it's bringing unnecessary attention to us. Everything you tell these people have a chance of returning back to your parents." She removed her gaze from her hands and turned it on Lloyd. " If you want to hide from your parents you can't fall back into the patterns that they know you by..." Caitlyn agreed with Alan that they should probably leave town in the morning. She hoped that they made it through the morning and no one tried to burn down the inn they were staying in... Caitlyn was probably over-reacting... she knew this but her panic on what could happen scared her. Her father's status saved her from the worst side of humanities fears. Alan already had his next destination in mind. She was too worried in her own mental panic to grow annoyed with his push asshole way of presenting his good idea. She just nodded taking a larger sip then what she sipping before. Why did he have to identify her to the others as the mage.... While she was sure he tried to flatter every mental image he presented of her... why..

Lloyd Scott Middleton/ Alan Pratt Drayton
High ranking Noble / Thief
"Suit yourself. Don't say I didn't warn ya." Alan smirked a bit as Caitlyn declined him. When it was all said and done, it seemed they were all quiet. Caitlyn didnt' seem to say one way or the other if she agreed to Humbolt or not. Not that he cared. He was going and he knew they would follow since he had the fragment. Part of him even was considering never to give this one up. Only this one. The Earth fragment belonged to the Drayton family and it should be kept. Though...it could fetch him a hefty price. The three of them mingled until they were ready to go back to the inn. Alan, though he wouldn't have minded a female with him, he wasn't going to bring any back. The way Lloyd was earlier it just wouldn't be safe.
"I'm sorry, Kitten. I ...guess I didn't think things through. I already promised Alan I wasn't going to tell stories anymore. I get it." Lloyd frowned, pouting like usual. However, he didn't stay there long, he never did. Whatever it was that went on in his head just didn't like staying in a 'mood'. He'd rather be happy and carefree and well himself. Feeling sad or upset or anything like that just didn't feel like 'him'. "I'm sure I can still be the one people talk to in taverns without stories."
After some time, Lloyd was beyond drunk. Almost ready to pass out and clearly could not walk on his own. Alan helped Lloyd up. "Let's crash for the night." The three of them headed back to the inn, though they were getting glares. Alan wasn't too concerned with them, though he also didn't want to just 'shrug it off' either. Once at the inn, Alan stopped outside of the door to their rooms. "Caitlyn, it'll be hard to wake Lloyd up in the morning. I drank don't get me wrong, but I ain't pissed drunk like him. I say when you're ready to go, let me know. I'll ...carry him if I have to. Staying here longer than we have to, not a good idea." Alan had no idea how he'd carry Lloyd out to the woods, or even to the stable, but he'd figure out a way. There he was, being pushy again. Honestly, Alan didn't even know he was being pushy, he just wanted to do what he knew had to be done. "Anyway, need anything or hear anything let me know. Have a good night." Alan went into his and Lloyd's room.
Alan put Lloyd down, or tried to. Lloyd on the other hand, turned and embraced Alan. Lloyd was straight as they come, but being as drunk as he was and being in a room, his mind clearly was not thinking right. His typical scenario with this was he always had a female. "Letsa haves somes fun, cutes." Lloyd slurred his speech as he leaned his head down and was about to kiss Alan's lips when Alan moved his head, getting Alan's hair and ear instead. "Oh...hardsta get. No need ta be shy. I wonts bite much." Lloyd grinned nuzzling his head against Alan's.
Alan shoved Lloyd down on the bed. "Go to sleep. Try anything again and I..." Alan was cut off when Lloyd tried to take Alan's pants off. Alan gritted his teeth and quickly threw a punch at Lloyd's stomach, hard enough to make Lloyd fall over onto the bed. "Sleep, now." Alan hissed out as he moved to his own bed. Thankfully he had enough to drink and he wouldn't think too long on what had happen. Still, it pissed him off. Sure Alan had looked at guys before, but he never could bring himself to sleep with them. He could only imagine sleeping with women. Still, his mind went back to Humbolt and what had happened to him when he was last there.
Alan dreamed a nightmare. A nightmare of where his father was beating his mother. His brother, and Alan hiding, cowering in fear. Then blood, blood everywhere, dripping down the stairs. Alan hovering over his brother. Alan awoke in a cold sweat. His heart racing. The sun was just starting to rise. His head ached but not like it had the other day. He had stopped drinking after Caitlyn arrived. Still, his fears was now haunting him. Alan sat in his bed, slowly coming too, realizing he was not in that memory. He was not in the house. Alan ran a hand through his hair just thinking as he fought back a few tears. If anything he was pissed now. How dare these memories keep plaguing him.
There was no way, Alan was going to be able to go back to sleep. He climbed out of his bed after some time and headed into the bathroom to shower. He ran the water and just soaked in the warmth. He had to wake up and shake the dream. Shake the memories. Humbolt was just a days ride away on horseback and he'd be there by nightfall. Oh how he hoped his grandfather had many of the strong dwarven drinks. He would need them.

Caitlyn Wallace noble of little rank
Their time in the bar passed rather quickly and Caitlyn was not surprised when Lloyd had ended the night completely smashed. When Alan considered it a night himself Caitlyn was not one to complain. She was more than ready to go, but was wise enough in her sense not to leave the inn alone. She nodded and followed behind Alan as he carried lloyd back to their room. Alan told her to let him know when she was ready to leave in the morning, that it was better they left as soon as possible, and Caitlyn nodded. She agreed. She wasn't sure about making Alan carry Lloyd but she wasn't sure she wanted to summon Hubert for the task either... that just mentally seemed like asking for trouble and she didn't want to reveal the dragon any sooner than absolutely necessary. Alan and Lloyd dissapeared behind the door to their room and Caitlyn walked to her own. She probably would not have slept at all that night, except that the drink she had in the inn lowered her worries just enough that she passed out before she had too much time to sit and worry about what the villagers of this town might do. That didn't stop her fears from invading her dreams and she tossed and turned in her slumber. She awoke several hours later, before the sun had risen and decided with a clear head that it was time to go... The working class tended to wake with the morning sun and she while praying that there would be no trouble hoped avoid any before it became a problem. She gathered her things, grabbed her staff... (when her mind started to call it hers she was not sure) and headed to the men's room. She hoped they were awake when she knocked on the door. " Alan, Lloyd are you guys up by a chance?" she spoke loud enough she hoped to grab their attention and not bother the others of the inn. " It's about an hour before dawn..."

Lloyd Scott Middleton/ Alan Pratt Drayton/ Orghan Drayton
High ranking Noble / Thief/ Dwarf
Alan got out of the shower, dressed and double checked that everything was in its place. The problem he had now though, was Lloyd. Part of him wasn't sure he wanted to even attempt to wake the man after the little scenario last night. He already thought better not to share what happened, even if he was asked. Alan poked Lloyd, nothing. Punched him lightly, still nothing. This was going to be a bitch, wasn't it. Alan turned his head to the door when he heard Caitlyn. He walked over and opened the door. "It seems today we are both morning people." Alan was honestly surprised to see Caitlyn all set to go. He still wasn't sure he was ever going to be ready. He had learned to do things quickly just to get them over with when he didn't like what he was doing. "Sleeping beauty on the other hand." Alan frowned as he looked at Lloyd.
The next fifteen minutes where spent trying to wake Lloyd. Lloyd stirred, annoyed. He wasn't use to being woken up by anyone. "Too early..." he mumbled, trying to grab the covers to pull over his head. The covers already pulled away. Lloyd mumbled a bit. "It's cold..." Let alone, his head was killing him. Finally, Lloyd managed to sit up, slowly coming to. He looked around at Alan and Caitlyn. "Huh...oh yea. That's right we were leaving this morning. Can't we leave in a few more hours though." Lloyd tried to protest, but when he saw the look Alan gave him he chose not to press the matter. "All right, all right. I'm up." He yawned as he climbed out of bed. He had gone to bed fully clothed though he had managed at some point to take off his shirt. Lloyd got dressed, putting his armor on once more. Something he wasn't quite use to yet, but it was the easiest way to lug the stuff around.
Within another ten minutes, they three of them where ready to go. They headed out of the inn. Few people where moving about since the sun wasn't up enough yet. The few people that where out paid little attention as they were starting their day. However, Alan noticed a group of people, in armor. "Shit...gotta move faster, Lloyd." Alan wasn't concerned with Caitlyn booking it since she didn't have a hangover. Alan shoved Lloyd as the three of them hurried to the stables. They mounted their horses and headed to the woods, where Gol was. Alan spoke in Dwarven and Gol actually replied a few words himself in Dwarven. It seemed the guards didn't come this way so chances are they would come through the woods later. "Let's just get to Humbolt. We should be safe enough."
Around sunset, the small group made their way to the small village. Once more, Alan told Gol to stay hidden. Alan got off his horse and just stood at the entrance of the village. He felt sick and dizzy. How could it be this hard? He must have looked worse than he thought he was, when Lloyd asked him if he was all right. "Huh, ah...I'm fine. It's...nothing." Alan didn't even bring his gaze to Lloyd when he talked. He was silent a bit longer. "We're here to talk to my grandfather and...One word out of either of you, and I will disappear with this fragment and ditch the two of you." Alan sharply looked at both of them though more so at Lloyd. "My grandfather is a dwarf." He saw Lloyd about to open his mouth. "Shut it, Lloyd. One word, one word is all it will take to push me over the edge right now."
Lloyd frowned when he was hushed. He had mixed emotions with Alan right now. Surely he wouldn't ditch them would he? Plus, it looked like Alan was getting sick. Fleeing and going off on your own while ill wasn't a smart thing to do. However, knowing that he was going to meet an actual dwarf, well that made Lloyd's day. He was thrilled to meet an actual dwarf! He only heard about them in stories and once in awhile saw them in town, but never got the chance to talk to them. "I wont say anything. Though I think we should hurry. Get you some rest, Alan. You really don't look well."
Alan looked at Lloyd and slowly nodded his head. "My grandfather's name is Orghan." He spoke as he hurried on to a house at the far end of the village. It was a home made more into the ground than it was of wood or brick. Alan stood at the door unsure how to go about knocking, though that was taken care of when Lloyd knocked for him. Alan grumbled a bit giving a sarcastic thank you to Lloyd.
A short, man with white hair answered the door. The man's brown eyes seemed to light up when he saw Alan. "My boy! It's been years, but I know it's yer! I thought yer never return!" He moved in and hugged Alan.
Alan stood there, just letting the old man hug him. "Yea...hey look my friends and I we need your help." Orghan let them into the house. Alan sat down rather swiftly at the table. His head hurt...still dizzy and he felt like he was going to throw up. Seeing Orghan didn't help. He placed a hand on his forehead and just tried to get past this. Lloyd introduced himself to Orghan and was already making small talk, though kept everything short for once.
