Caitlyn Wallace noble of little rank
Caitlyn didn't respond to him mentioning that today they were both morning people. Normally she was a morning person which drove her family and the servants insane. Instead she shrugged and looked over to the still sleeping Lloyd. "Well they said that sleeping beauty was awoke by a kiss from her prince charming..." She snarked back with a slight grin. She did not know what had happened the night before but the image of Alan and Lloyd kissing was so absurd it was amusing. She helped tried to awaken Lloyd and found that this seemed to be a dauntless task, she rubbed her head and decided to put her efforts somewhere else a little more fruitful. She left Alan as he scrambled to wake up Lloyd and went to the stables to get their horses ready. The less time they spent there, the better, she told herself and let Alan take care of Lloyd. She left the horses in the hands of the stable boy and returned back upstairs to see that Lloyd was in the process of waking up. She was relieved. They gathered their things and were quickly on their way. Alan guided them to their destination in Humbolt. Caitlyn couldn't help but notice that they closer and closer they got to their destination the paler and paler Alan got. She got littlel explaination, until they reached Humbolt, before Alan explained part of the situation, But Caitlyn did not think that was the only problem. She nodded, promising not to say anything, and followed them. She also nodded in agreement to Lloyd's statement that Alan should rest. Cailtyn didn't know much, but doubted with the fact that they were going to see him, Alan's grandfather, Orghan would throw them under the buss. Especially if he was Dwarven, Caitlyn knew as a rule of thumb, in dwarven culture family was everything... there were a few exceptions to the rule, but her instinct didn't let her doubt it now. Caitlyn then drifted her thoughts into what else she knew about Dwarves, their skills were unrivaled, metal and stone work desired by all. Her mother had a Dwarven crafted necklace, that her father decided her brother deserved after her death, and Caitlyn envied the piece of jewelry that her brother wore around his neck. He had not cherished it the way she had of or that her mother did, and the necklace was only a fragment of the beauty that it once was. Between that and her magic, the rift between her brother and her became too great to fix. Before she knew it, she came back to reality as they were standing outside Alan's grandfather's door. The man seemed both surprised and happy to see alan and they found themselves pulled inside the building. Alan was looking far worse than he had all day and Caitlyn hated to think that she might be worried but realized by Orghan's words and Alan's reaction that something bad must have happened between the family in the past. " Mr. Orghan, it's a pleasure. I am Caitlyn, an... acquaintance of your grandson" Caitlyn spoke calmly and showing the dwarven figure as much respect as she could. She knew little about their culture, but put what knowledge she did have to use. " Alan guided us here, he said you might be able to help us, but it seems he has grown ill on our trip. I know that we are not all family, but would you be willing to give us a place to rest tonight." Cailtyn, knowing that things weren't right with Alan moved as she spoke, pulling a canteen and a cloth from her bag; she soaked the cloth and placed it on the back of Alan's neck hoping he would forgive her actions. She hoped that the cool cloth would help ease what ever ailed him. Alan needed to rest, that she was sure, the fragments could wait, they had too, she knew. Alan was the only one that could safely guide them through the tunnels or locations that they might need to go.

Alan flinched when he felt the cool cloth on the back of his neck. He hadn't been expecting anyone to be near him and his guard was lowered a bit. It actually took a moment for him to realize what was going on. He didn't have the energy to say anything so he just sat there and gave a mumble, "Thank you." He felt unsure about this. He knew he was portraying that he was someone to work as a 'team', but to actually have others care enough to do this, was odd. A feeling he was not use to and a feeling he wasn't sure of.
"It is a pleasure to meet both of you, Lloyd and Caitlyn." Orghan spoke as he walked over to Alan as well. "All of you may stay here, I have plenty of room for you all. Alan, why don't you go rest in the room you used to sleep in. I'll bring you one of my home made brews." Orghan knew what was going on in Alan's head. Though he was shocked it was affecting him so much. Perhaps some booze would make him feel better and after a good nights rest. "I'll also make some stew for everyone. A friend of Alan's, is a friend of mine. Make yourselves at home." Orghan smiled as he went into the kitchen to go make a drink for Alan.
Alan nodded his head, slowly getting up, but as quickly as he stood up, he swirled downward to the ground, Lloyd catching him. Lloyd frowned as he looked over at Caitlyn. "You think he'll be all right?" Lloyd was quite worried about his friend.
Orghan walked back over to them after hearing the commotion. "He'll be all right. Alan, just has some very bad memories here. All happened when he was just a young kid of eight. He just needs time to adjust being in Humbolt again." Orghan showed Lloyd the way to Alan's room and helped put Alan to bed. Lloyd and Orghan returned back into the kitchen. "I know Alan has a lot of baggage, but I hope he isn't bothering either of you. I must say I'm glad to see he has friends though." Orghan smiled, but then narrowed his eyes on the two. "I noticed Alan wearing the Earth crystal. There's no way he'd just have gotten that by himself. Is that what you are all after? The fragment crystals? If you are, I suggest stopping. It's a dangerous road." Orghan had not heard about Sen nor anyone in Humbolt. Word was usually slow to travel to the small town and that was the way they liked it. They worried the most about the town over anything else.
Lloyd was a bit shocked when Orghan seemed to figure them out so quickly. "Wow, how did you do that? You must have keen eye sight!" Lloyd nodded his head. "Must pay very good attention to detail." Lloyd paid attention to detail only when it came to fighting and telling his stories. Looking at people's necklaces or anything small like that, forget it. He didn't care to notice stuff like that.

"Thank you," She responded gently when Orghan told them they could stay there. She was also relieved to hear that he was willing to make some stew for them, that sounded like a good meal. "If you would like Lloyd or I to help, I am sure that we would be more than willing to provide you any assistance you might need in the kitchen." She was relieved they had a place to rest for a night, maybe two. Especially after Alan passed out and Lloyd caught him in time. Her hunch had been confirmed when Orghan mentioned that there was indeed an incident in the past that seemed to cause Alan much distress. She hated the idea that maybe they shouldn't stay longer than what they needed. " I don't know... it depends on what you mean by alright Lloyd.... I don't think he was right when we met him." She muttered and sighed. She felt that somewhere this situation was a large part of Alan's people skills... or lack thereof... " If you mean will he go back to being his oh-so wonderful smart ass self... well that is possible." Caitlyn was not one to sugar coat things, but she knew that it was likely the sooner that they moved on and removed Alan from the things that haunted him, the sooner he would feel better, she also knew that leaving him here might be what he needed to heal... Orghan in a sense echoed her words and she nodded. Orghan offered to show them where they would be staying and neither Caitlyn nor Lloyd refused. She was also not surprised when he hit the nail on the head and started them into focus on what they had come to talk about. She was also not surprised that his first words were of warning. She smiled, his words more than true caused her to pause and reconsider if this was really the path they should take. She sighed. " Yes, it is dangerous... But the danger that lurks if we do not take it is far worse." She responded despite Lloyd rambling. " Once we get Alan settled, we can talk. Maybe as the meal is prepared. What we have experience so far, and why we sought you out, we'll tell you the whole story so far." Caitlyn found it hard to believe that they had been traveling only a few days. She felt tired, and wondered if that was from their journey, or the fact that she hadn't fully recovered from forming a contract with Undine. She wasn't sure which, but she was sure it was probably a combination of the two.

Lloyd looked at Caitlyn when she spoke of Alan as so. "Aw, he isn't a smart ass. He just knows what works for him. Plus he's a fun guy to be around, specially in the bars. It's amazing to see how much he can drink." Lloyd grinned with a chuckle. Now it made sense to Lloyd on how Alan could drink so much with him being part dwarven. "Maybe when he's feeling better I'll take him out to the taverns."
Once Alan was situated, Orghan led the other two back into the kitchen. "I think I will take you up on helping to prep. I could use someone to get the veggies while I get the meat and other things going." Orghan was debating on what to tell them about the crystals. It was clear to him that though Alan apparently was someone who lacked people skills, the two of them here cared enough about him to hopefully all be friends. Though he wondered if Alan would call them such. Even as a small child, Alan rarely played with the other boys. It was always Andrew he played with and looked after. "So, tell me about this danger that is far worse." Orghan, along with many other dwarves and others kept the crystals hidden. Many of the dwarves had found the crystals when they were out mining in places humans did not tread. The dwarves not caring who was in power for the humans, decided to protect these crystals instead.
Lloyd explained how apparently a strong mage, named Sen was collecting them. How Lloyd knew for sure that he had one crystal that was taken from the human royalty. Lloyd continued to explain his plan then that he wanted to stop Sen. Caitlyn took over and continued as well. Until the two of them finished explaining everything to Orghan.
"I see. I cannot say I am surprised that someone finally decided they wanted to meddle with the crystals. They wont be easy to obtain at all. The one Alan led you to was probably the easiest since we had to abandon the place." Orghan also thought nobody would be stupid enough to go back to the old dwarven village. Orghan finished prepping the stew with the help of the others. He then sat down in a chair in the living room, waiting for the two others to come sit. "I have many books that explain where the crystals are, and I know where most are from over the years of reading them and talking to other folks. There are two not too far from here. One is at the water boarder, the sea of Merfolk. They know where one is, sadly even as a dwarf they wont talk to me. I doubt it's the water one they have, but it's worth checking out. Then, there is one in Volt's tower. However, people aren't stupid enough to venture there. Lightening is said to spark even inside the building. Many of died."
Lloyd looked at Orghan wide eyed at the last topic. "I heard of Volt's tower. Once, one of the guards told me about it how he and a few others went to check it out. Only two of them made it back out and they didn't go in very far. They couldn't even retrieve the bodies of the fallen because of how many lightening strikes there were." Though Lloyd saw this as an adventure, he wasn't sure with this tower. He'd like to see it for himself before he made any real thought of the place. "I say we check out the Merfolk first! I'm sure I can get them to talk." Lloyd grinned. "I have a pretty good charm or so I'd like to think."
Alan tossed in turn in his slumber. Mumbling words of, "Stay away!" or "Get away from him you bastard!" It had been about two hours since he had passed out and the entire time he was out, his mind kept to the old memories of this place. Alan quickly sat up, in a cold sweat, his heart racing. He had thrown out a punch though nobody was there. He looked around the room widely. After a few moments and a few deep breaths, Alan realized it was just his mind caught in the past again. Alan sat there, on his bed, just thinking. He had to get out of here.
Alan slowly got to his feet, not as dizzy, but still pale looking. He wanted to drink, he wanted to get fresh air. Alan looked at the small window in the room. He wasn't sure he'd be able to get out of it. He hated how his grandfather's place was built into the earth. Alan went to the window and opened it, climbing up on a chair. He pulled himself up and started to shimmy his way through the small window. He didn't want his grandpa to know that he was out and about. He was sure the others may even protest to it as well. After a few minutes, Alan was able to force himself out the window and outside. The cool air of the night felt good. Alan grabbed his flask and opened it chugging the rest of the booze that was inside.
Then, Alan headed to a tavern and ordered up some strong drinks. It wasn't before long, that Alan was actually drunk. More so than he had been in awhile. He staggered out of the tavern, and headed towards his old home. He stood at the entrance, just starring at the house. "Bastard. It still stands. How the hell can it still stand!" His words slurred and it looked exactly like it did. A drunk yelling at an abandoned house. Alan staggered inside the house, walking around. He stumbled upon his father's old drinking cabinet. Surprisingly the drinks still there. People probably avoided the house since it was a tragedy that had struck here. Alan grabbed the booze and started to drink more. He'd curse and after each bottle was or almost was empty, he threw it across the room, letting it shatter against the wall.
A knock came to Orghan's door right as he was ready to start serving the stew. "Excuse me," He went to the door and a middle aged man was there. "Ah, Leroy. It's good to see you again." Leroy gave a shy smile as he then explained he believed it was Alan drinking at the tavern. How he was just chugging down every drink as if he barely tasted it at all. It was actually something that Leroy recalled Orghan doing before but it wasn't to get drunk. Orghan did it to show off his skills. "I see. Thank you, Leroy. I have a favor to ask the two of you." He returned to Lloyd and Caitlyn. "I don't think it'll do Alan any good if I where to go. Think the two of you can retrieve him? He apparently snuck out and got quite drunk. He's at an old abandoned house down the street. You can't miss it."

Orghan listened with far more patience than what Caitlyn had expected. They talked as they cooked, both filling in their perspective of the situation. Orghan did not seem surprised and instead talked to them, giving them more information that what she expected. Her first impressions were that he was going to keep the secret guarded. Other locations he listed off the top of his head were the merfolk and Volt tower... Caitlyn mentally cringed, she was not sure which would be easier. Caitlyn rolled her eyes to Lloyd and his comment about charming the Mermaids... She doubted it would be that simple a task, but found that Lloyd's persepective might make matters a little better. The story took time, and the meal preparation led way to them all sitting around the kitchen table. " Orghan, If we locate more stones... is there some way we can keep them safe... out of Sen's reach?" She asked. If anyone could answer the question she believed the dwarf could. While her trust for Alan was questionable, this old and honorable Dwarf came off as someone she could trust. She didn't want to put him at risk, but somthing told her from the way he talked and handled himself, that the Dwarf was more than capabled for taking care of himself. "We hope to prevent him from collecting them all... is there any way that it is possible?" Caitlyn was all for giving fragments to Hubert and letting him bury them in locations around the globe... But that would put Hubert in considerable risk, and the only other creatures that she knew to have a strong resilience to magic was the Dwarven race. Orghan did not immediately answer the question for there was a knock at the door and he went to answer it. Caitlyn gave an uneasy glance at Lloyd and decided to follow the Dwarf. Orghan opened the door to someone he was familiar with and informed them that Alan was drunk and causing a ruckus. Caitlyn sighed and looked at Lloyd. " How would you like to do this? Alan's not to fond of me, I think you will have better luck, but if you think you'll need my help I will assist how ever I can." She new Lloyd was going to go, that she didn't have any doubt.

Lloyd Scott Middleton/ Alan Pratt Drayton/ Orghan Drayton
High ranking Noble / Thief/ Dwarf
Lloyd nodded his head. He knew Alan and Caitlyn didn't get along the best, why he didn't know. Both of them brought such valuable talents to their group. He nodded his head. "Yea, I'll go get him. If he's been drinking though, enough to get that drunk though..." Lloyd frowned. He shook his head. "I'll get him. I'll be back in a few." Lloyd smiled as he headed out the door and down the street.
Orghan went back to the kitchen and poured himself and Caitlyn a bowl of the stew. "No need to wait on them. They could be awhile." He set a place at the table for Caitlyn as well as himself getting water for both of them. Orghan drank, but not as much as he use to. After seeing what his son had done all those years ago to Alan's brother, he choose to back off on drinking so heavily. He sat down and was still thinking about Caitlyn's question. "I'm not sure there is going to be a way to fully guarantee that this Sen does not obtain them. If he truly is as powerful as you claim, nothing will stop him. Unless, that is, your team gets them all first and use them." Orghan thought a bit more still trying to come up with a plan to protect the fragments as they get them. "I suggest we make replica's though. Have you guys keep the replicas while the real ones are hidden. That way Sen believes you have them." Orghan use to be a blacksmith and he figured he'd be able to make crystal's similar to the actual ones. The only problem would be they wouldn't have the 'aura' around them. Though he could see if Caitlyn would be able to enchant them if he told her how to do it.
Orghan ate some of the soup, still thinking. It wasn't like he disliked mages, he just disliked stupid mages. In fact, that could go for anyone. Anyone who was out for power or fully themselves and hurting others, he didn't much like. "The only thing I can fully suggest is, there is an ancient box, I would have to talk with one of my friends, but this box protects what is inside of it. The crystals give off an aura that mages can sense, as I am sure you can. In this box though, they wont be able to admit anything. I could hang onto the box, I have an underground area in this house that is secret. And it will be well protected. I have an army of my own under the house." Orghan chuckled a little. "Anyone dumb enough to try to obtain the box will have to face a few dozen golems." Orghan was fine putting himself in danger. He knew there would be a time that someone would be after the crystals and it wasn't like he was going to live forever. The way he saw it, this small group was the only chance to fully stop Sen.
Though, Orghan was starting to wonder something else. "Caitlyn, I have a question to ask of you. I have been around mages before, there's a few here in Humbolt as well. However, you don't seem to give off the same powers that they do. Your magic is something different." Orghan couldn't place it for sure, but the way Caitlyn carried herself, she just didn't seem like the typical mage. He was wondering if she was a summoner. Summoners where quite rare in themselves and all of Orghan's life he has only met two. Possibly three now. In the books he read, he knew summoners played a part with the crystals.
Lloyd finally reached the abandoned house. He could hear glass shattering inside. He hurried inside and found a very drunk Alan sitting down against the wall drinking away. "Hey, Alan, come on, I think you had enough." Lloyd was about to put his hands on Alan's shoulder when Alan stood up, taking out his blades. "Huh, hey come on, Alan, it's me Lloyd."
"Piss off! I should have killed you that night when you where passed out!" Alan shouted. He did not see Lloyd at all, it was his father he was seeing. Alan seemed to have forgotten that his father was hanged and killed for what he had done many years ago. "I ain't afraid of you no more, father!" Of course Alan's words where all slurred.
"Huh, wait woah, come on now, Alan you don't want to fight me. I am not your father!" Lloyd tried to calm Alan, but Alan charged at him. With Alan being as drunk as he was, Lloyd was able to avoid the charge. "Orghan said your father was dead, Alan. He isn't around anymore." Lloyd didn't fully know what was going on in Alan's head. All Lloyd could go off of was the little Orghan had told them.
"I...he...No! He killed Andrew! You killed him! He was just a kid! Innocent little kid! Why did you kill him!" Alan shook his head as tears fell down his face. That was when Lloyd moved and grabbed Alan from behind, making Alan drop his blades and then put him in a sleeper hold. "Let me go, stop it!" Alan shortly fell limp, as he was knocked out.
"I'm sorry, Alan...I'm not sure the details, but no one should have gone through what you did." Lloyd could piece together some of the story. How Alan's father must have came home one night, probably drunk and killed Andrew, Alan's younger brother. Alan probably saw all of it and...well it was no wonder Alan hated this place. Lloyd picked up and sheathed Alan's blades and carried the guy back to Orghan's. He opened the door and the stench of booze just filled the home from Alan. "I retrieved him, but...he isn't in good health mentally. I kind of figured out his past." Lloyd frowned.

Caitlyn Wallacenoble of little rankLloyd left to retrieve Alan agreeing it would probably be better for her to stay behind. Cailtyn didn’t argue. She believed Lloyd more than capable of bringing back Alan, even if he was rampaging drunk, and she desired to talk to Orghan and gather as much information as she could. “ Be safe,” She muttered as Lloyd closed the door. She didn’t know if he heard her, didn’t think it mattered. She didn’t want harm to be fall either man, but the shock of the words coming from her was alarming to her. For trying to keep herself as distant as she was… Lloyd was gone and Orghan pulled her back into the kitchen serving them food. She wondered at the fact that he didn’t comment about her staying behind, but resumed answering her question. He told her what he could… and confirmed what she thought… hiding them would be troublesome… But he was more than willing to ensure the safety of one. Should they gather another for him to protect. Alan, the more she thought about it and watched him, would likely not willingly give up the fragment he held then. “ I don’t want to force any task upon you, should we gather more orbs…. I might seek you out again to figure out what we need to do… You have plenty of time to consider what you would be willing to do… The last thing I would want to do is bring danger to your household.” Her words were genuine, she found that she liked the old Dwarf and wondered how Alan ended up like he did. “ Until then… could you do me a favor and speak what we just talked about to no one… not even Lloyd or Alan… I believe their intentions might, for the most part, be good…. I don’t trust that under the right conditions that they would be able to keep that secret.... If we need to explain, we can do so when there would be a fragment to hide.” Her words were those of what she believed to be true. Lloyd was too trusting, Alan his loyalties too hidden to be trusted… It was an option, but the fewer people that knew about it, the better. Should the gather more fragments, she would have Hubert hide them, they would carry the real ones, and she would give Orghan one for safe keeping if that was the task he chose. Orghan one that Sen might not make any connection to at all. Alan and Lloyd were not home yet and Caitlyn found herself growing anxious. She didn’t like sitting and waiting, not normally an outgoing person Caitlyn talked to the dwarf more in the last few minutes than she had to anybody in months. Orghan was far friendlier than she ever expected. He eased and flared her anxiety when he asked what type of Mage she was. She didn’t think he would question that she was any different from any other mage. She was about to tell him that she was a regular mage when the fact that she was asking a lot of the old man, and offered little to prove that she could be trusted. She ran her fingers through her hair and sighed. “ I am a summoner…” She muttered looking at the stew in her bowl. “ My grandmother was before me, as were several ancestors in the line before her… I think according to the records I could find that it was my ancestor that helped the current line of royalty assert their claim to throne.” Caitlyn did not know the tie between the fragments and summoning. The journal, hinted that as a summoner she played an important role, but Caitlyn figured it was just a form of muscle backing. Summoners were in that time far more common then they were now, and one of the strongest beings around. All she had was a journal her father had been unable to hide from her, and was denied the ability to talk to her grandmother while she lived after her powers manifested. Most of the summoner knowledge that should have been her birthright had been hidden from her by her father out of fear. She tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear to hide the discomfort that she felt openly admitting her abilities to a man she just met.

"Nobody is forcing me," Orghan smiled when Caitlyn mentioned that she didn't want to force him into doing this. He knew of the dangers. "And bah, don't worry about danger coming to my home. If Sen somehow finds out I got a grand surprise for him then." Orghan grinned as he thought about his golems. "Besides, I kind of miss some of the action I had as a younger adult. I may have aged a little but I can easily take care of myself yet." He knew she was worried about him, and he was hoping by his words that she would not. Orghan tilted his head a little when she asked about keeping what they discussed to themselves. He didn't quite enjoy keeping this from Alan, but he could see that the less people that knew about this, the better. "All right. This is our secret for now."
Orghan's eyes widen a little when she spoke summoner. He listened carefully to what she had to say. Orghan was not sure where to start with this. He feared for Caitlyn's life now. He didn't know everything that a summoner was needed for the fragments but he could guess. "Caitlyn, how many summons do you have and which elements? Ah...maybe I should explain. The little I know on summoners, they are needed in order to use the fragments. The elemental spirits usually seek out a summoner when they sense danger. Usually it's summoners that seek the spirits out in time of peace." Orghan paused as he tried to figure out the rest of what he needed to say. "I think it's the elemental spirits that need to combine their power with the crystals to fully use them. If they, the spirits are seeking you out, then the elementals you have could very well indicate which crystals are already in Sen's or your hands."
Orghan looked up when he heard the door open to see Lloyd and Alan return. Though Lloyd was carrying Alan. He frowned unsure what all took place.

Caitlyn Wallacenoble of little rank Caitlyn smiled with Orghan's response to her concerns. No, no one was forcing him, but should he decide that he didn't want to deal with the Orbs, she gave him plenty of room to say no if he decided. Caitlyn knew about Dwarven culture to an extent and knew not to say that openly, Dwarves prided themselves on their strenght and ability to accomplish terrible tasks and she didn't want to imply that he couldn't. If Sen picked a battle with Orghan, Caitly was sure that it was a battle that Sen wouldn't leave with out a major scar. She intended to keep Orghan as safe as possible and that is why she didn't want to discuss her plans with the others. She could tell that he was uneasy with it and felt a pang of guilt, but decided that she thought it was best. He asked her what Elementals she had. Caitlyn sighed, she barely comprehended what he meant. Elementals were beings of great power, the essance of the element they represented. " The strongest creatures I have are a dragon... and Undine... But I have had Hubert for years, there were no whispers of Sen before this week..." she muttered. His explanation of why he asked made the hair on the back of her neck stand on edge. The thought of him needing a summoner made her sick, but she didn't think she had elementals in her arsonal. “ Otherwise.. the contracts I have made are far milder in compairison... a brownie.. tree nymph... beings that are typical around towns...” Hubert, was hubert, and she believed he would have said something should he be a elemental being.. Undine.... she just met undine, she didn’t know what to think about the water being.. if she was an elemental or not.... Her unease was rising, because she worried about elementals seeking her out, she lived a sheltered life, and she believed she couldn’t be the only Summoner still in existance, maybe those creatures sought out another summoner. Lloyd re-entered the room with Alan passed out in his arms and Caitlyn looked up surprised. She had lost her self in her thoughts and did not hear him come inside.“ Are you guys alright?” she finally found her words.

Orghan thought for a moment about the two strong creatures Caitlyn had. He knew of Undine before, but Hubert didn't quite fit in. Still, if he was a dragon, he could easily be considered a strong fire element for the stones instead of the old Eefret. "Undine is one with the water stone, she's been around for quite some time. I assume we do not have the water crystal and it's easy enough to say that Sen has it. With Hubert, I am not sure. I am use to hearing the name of Eefret when it comes to the fire stone, but Eefret is a strange creature. He could have easily been in a mood and asked for Hubert to take over for him while he slept. Hubert may know, but I do not. Did you happen to come across Gnome when you found the Earth crystal?" He doubted it since she did not mention Gnome, but he hoped. Gnome liked to play games though. "We can talk later if you like." He mentioned when the boys had returned.
Lloyd looked over at Caitlyn and nodded his head. "Yea, I'm fine. Not sure about Alan though. What his dad did to him years ago, well...it plagues him deeply. His father apparently ended up killing Andrew, his brother. Anyway, Alan was pissed drunk and he wasn't seeing nor thinking straight. I had to knock him out. He just needs some rest."
The next morning, Orghan was already awake and cooking some eggs in the kitchen. Lloyd also awake, was trying to help. Though in Lloyd's opinion he was trying to add more pepper and salt to the eggs. "Lloyd if you want more you can add more on your plate afterwards. You can always add but you can never take away. Try experimenting on your food before anyone elses. "Orghan chuckled a little hoping Lloyd would listen.
Alan slept like a rock and didn't even move much while he slept. He could hear Orghan and Lloyd, but just didn't want to move. His head hurt the worse that it had in years. He couldn't even remember last night or how he even got back here.

Caitlyn Wallacenoble of little rank Caitlyn was unsure how to respond. It seemed Orghan new a lot about summons, she knew that there would be a time that she would like to stick around and pick hid brains. Maybe he had information that her mother and grandmother never had the opportunity to teach her. He mentioned what he thought, and Caitlyn sighed, she really wasn't sure, But her heart dropped with the news that Undine was one of the Elementals that Sen would need. She felt fear rise in her blood, especially when Hubert didn't respond to her inquiries. It was late, he might be sleeping she reminded herself, he didn't sleep often, but when he did, it was near impossible to wake him. She bit her lip and Orghan asked about a summon named Golem... " No.. no I haven't been approached by any creature since Undine." She muttered.Their conversation came to an abrupt halt when attention focused on Lloyd and Alan. She gave Orghan a quick nod, agreeing to talk later. Orghan provided her with so much information that just set her thoughts racing. His words just seemed to skim the base of knowledge he seemed to know. Caitlyn didn't know how to respond to Lloyd's explanation. The voice in the back of her head kept telling her that there was a reason why Alan had been they way he had. That didn't make his actions alright, but Caitlyn couldn't talk. What could a father do to crush their child they way Alan had been crushed. She chided her concern, if she grew too attached she realized that she wouldn't be able to leave, something she needed to be able to do more so now if she held the key to Sen accomplishing what he intended. Justified or not, he's an ass, she mentally kept telling herself. " I think we all need to rest," she muttered suddenly feeling exhausted. She waited for Lloyd to take Alan to his room and turned to Orghan. " Thank you, for your shelter and your knowledge.... I... I would like to hear more of what you have to tell... But I think I have heard all my mind could absorb at this point." She tucked a lose strand of red hair behind her ear as she spoke, the one hint to show her insecurity. "Excuse me," she muttered dismissing herself from the room. Her thoughts a thousand miles a minute. The next morning Caitlyn had sought out Orghan’s books, after asking, hoping that he had information about summoners that she realized that she needed to know. In her element, the rest of the world disappeared from around her as she sought out information. Only coming slightly back to reality from the smell of the food drifting from the kitchen that Orghan and Lloyd were cooking in.

Orghan had to admit, he was glad that Caitlyn seemed to be wanting to learn. He would give any and all help that he could. Since he had left the underground, he had been gathering knowledge and books from all over the world. He also read nearly every book he obtained, though some of the stuff was foggy in his mind for being so long ago since he had read it. He was glad the books he gathered where getting used.
Lloyd helped set the table. He brought the eggs, the toast, the pancakes, all over to the table. Along with getting milk out and pouring glasses for everyone. "Come and get it." Lloyd shouted. Though he wondered if Alan was going to get out of bed or not for breakfast. He was worried about his friend. He walked over to Caitlyn and looked at one of the books she was reading. "Finding any important stuff for our adventure?"
Orghan headed down the hallway and opened Alan's door. He didn't bother to knock, knowing the kid wouldn't answer him anyway. He walked in, sat on the edge of the bed, slowly pulling the covers down from Alan's head. "Alan, you over did it last night. Though they all know now. I can't say I'm surprised that your past still haunts you. You never faced your past." Orghan sighed. "Look kid, doing what you did last night will only bring you down hill. If you truly are in this adventure with those two, and you want to save the world, you need to forgive your father and move on."
Alan gave an annoyed stare at his grandfather. He was probably right. Alan slowly forced himself to sit up. His head killing him. "I get it..." He mumbled. Though he still wouldn't consider Lloyd or Caitlyn part of an actual team. Besides, he was just looking out for number one. Alan sighed. Maybe he shouldn't just look out for number one. Maybe this Sen guy was a serious threat. Still.
"Breakfast is on if you want to eat." Orghan spoke as he left Alan alone.
Alan thought a bit longer, before getting to his feet. Though, he grabbed his blanket and put it back over his head as he walked out of the room and into the kitchen. He took a seat at the table and began to slowly eat.

Caitlyn Wallacenoble of little rank Caitlyn jumped hearing Lloyd so close to her. Wasn't he in the kitchen. She glanced up and noticed him holding and looking at one of the books. She re-ran his question through her head and looked down a little guilty. " Sort of... It partains partially to the fragments, but I am mostly trying to learn about summoners." She felt some warmth spread to her cheeks. Caitlyn didn't like admitting she didn't know much about her abilities. She knew Lloyd held a high esteem for her and she realized that bubble was about to break. This was likely what was going to drive in the point that she had little understanding to what she was doing. " Orghan has several books on summoners... this is the only opportunity I have had to learn about my magical heritage..." She muttered feeling that she should explain. " My father when I first contracted Hubert, refused to accept my magic. He pretended, maybe he thought, that if we didn't pay attention to it it would disappear. He forbade me from seeing my grandmother, the one person whom could have explained..." She looked down and the book in her hands. " This isn't my family's knowledge but it's all I have right now to understanding and developing my powers. I am hoping to learn to control them better." She set the book down and looked up at Lloyd. She had learned a lot in the first few hours of reading. Increasing her stamina seemed to be the ever elusive topic, and she was starting to think that it was something that would develop the more she used it. But she was starting to understand more about contracts, the binding with them and the tiers of beings and power required to hold them. She could see that Hubert was no elemental, but he was definitely a being of power. Strong enough that Orghan's theory of him being a stand in was possible. " I was going to start looking for more info about the fragments after breakfast. I wasn't sure how Alan would be feeling today and figured we shouldn't push things." She also added hoping that her lack of focus on the fragments would be forgiven. " Are next stop was going to be the mer-people I believe... and then hopefully we have more information to go from there." She bit her lip. It wasn't a lie. After breakfast was prepared, Orghan would be able to help direct her in the right direction of books regarding the fragments.

Lloyd Scott Middleton High ranking Noble
Lloyd tilted his head as Caitlyn started to speak. At first he didn't fully understand why she started to go into a full detail about how she didn't know much about summoners. He had always assumed she knew plenty. If not everything about them. He felt a bit bad for her, not being able to see her own grandmother and learn about her powers. They truly where a gift, but he didn't understand why so many people feared it. "Your father was just trying to protect you, I'm sure. Parents just do what they think is the best for their children. To try to protect them, even if it's not right." He looked over at some of the books in front of Caitlyn. "It may not be your family's knowledge, but all of it is still part of you. I'm glad you're learning about your gift." Lloyd smiled. "You'll be a master in no time about your gift! So are you learning a lot? Learning about how to use your awesome powers? To make more contacts?"
Lloyd frowned a bit with the mention of Alan. He didn't know how he'd be feeling either. "Maybe we should rest for a full day here. Besides, it seems Orghan has plenty to teach us." Lloyd smiled once more. For him he was referring to the cooking. What Orghan said about using the spices on his own meals first made sense. He'd get to learn what was good and what wasn't. Or he hoped. Caitlyn had quite a few books to read from the looks of things to learn everything she would need to. Then there was Alan, who hopefully would learn to come to terms with his past.
"Mer-people huh, yea that's right. I can't wait to meet them! Have you ever met one of them before? I wonder what they are like. I find it hard to believe people actually live under water. Do they have to hold their breath? Or do they have gills like fish?" Lloyd was saying anything that came to mind about the Mer-people. He truly had no idea what they were like. Honestly he had no idea besides humans what any race was like.
Lloyd looked up and saw Alan with a blanket over his head sit down at the table. "Well, at least he's out of his room. How much you want to bet he has the worst hangover of his life." Lloyd then thought about Gol. "Hm...if we're staying here another day, do you think we should have Gol came in? I feel bad leaving him just outside." Even though Gol was made out of stone, Lloyd, of course, saw him as a person.

Caitlyn Wallace noble of little rank
" The road to hell was paved with the best intentions Lloyd. Trying to protect me or not... they didn't go away... And I have no knowledge to protect myself." She muttered and put down the book. She was still slightly shaken by what Orghan had told her the night before. Should Sen figure out that she was a summoner she needed to know everything she could to protect herself. " Don't get me wrong, Lloyd, I love my father... But I can't sit around. I can't rely on the protection of others..." She ran her fingers through her hair nervously. Lloyd was siding with her she knew... He just stated that her father was wrong keeping that information from her. But she felt raw, in the past few days she was realizing just how much she was missing. How exposed she really was to danger. " In concept," she sighed taking his change for a lighter topic on the subject. She placed her hand on the book. " I am understanding more as I read. Spells, contracts, there is so much here and my brain is trying to absorb what it can." Caitlyn wished she could take the books with her, but deep down knew they belonged with Orghan. Some how, she knew another summoner might need the wisdom they provided. She did consider asking if he would be willing to help her somehow gather her own copies. But she already owed the Dwarf too much to repay. " There is a lot of mechanics... you know... but some how... it all comes together and I am able to pull a creature from one place or plane of existence to me. One moment Hubert could be sleeping in a cave, I say a few pretty words, and poof there he is." Lloyd was intelligent, to and extent, but Caitlyn felt the need to simplify it. " No one can explain where this power originated though... and it baffles me. But there is so much more than that... these books... They explain that it's possible I can seek out contracts... That I can prevent myself from being forced into one..." This was just the surface of the information that she was finding... There was so much that she couldn't hope to bring it all out to words in one sitting. " Mermaids... they are complicated..." Caitlyn muttered recalling the information she had read. " They are intelligent beings, beautiful, and are rumored very fertile. But they are Dangerous.... They consider humanity to be their biggest enemy. Humans wronged them too many times, and if a human to come across them your death his pretty much guaranteed. Few humans had negotiated with the merpeople... but thousands of others whom have tried in their stead have died..." she thought about his questions and sighed. " I've heard of two types or two theories depending on the sources... Some people believe that they gills... and others believe they, like Dolphins, have expanded lungs and need surface every few hours. No human has been able to come close enough to them and lived to tell the tale." Caitlyn sighed. " Honestly.. I don't know what we are going to do when we go to see them... I don't know what we could offer them that they do not wish to murder us the first opportunity they get." Lloyd had become distracted it seemed as she talked. Alan was awake and sitting at the table. Lloyd was right... he probably was having the best morning he's had in a long while... [scarcasm fully intended in her mind]. " It wouldn't surprise me if he went back to bed after he ate, he looks like shit." Caitlyn responded. He looked bad enough that she hoped he did. Lloyd and her could entertain themselves for him to recover from his activities the night before. Knowing what she had learned from working with Milly she didn't hold much sympathy in her voice. Alan seemed like the type that would harm those whom pitied him. He seemed like one of those that needed people to pretend nothing was wrong unless he told them otherwise. Then Lloyd mentioned Gol and Caitlyn nearly banged her head against the only open space available on the desk before her. " We can't bring Gol into town... do you want to send the people in town into a panic."
